I understand wanting DONTNOD to make this game since they obviously made the first one, but they left Life is Strange behind a long time ago. And frankly, I thought Life is Strange 2 (DONTNOD's only other Life is Strange game) was a boring slog. It was poorly paced and featured one of the cringiest commentaries on racism I've ever seen. I'm happy that Deck Nine has taken over the series. They've reportedly had management issues, but the actual developers have made what I think are impressive Life is Strange games. I loved Before the Storm and True Colors. And while it was disappointing to not have Ashly Burch reprise her role as Chloe in Before the Storm, that wasn't the fault of Deck Nine. Ashly Burch herself chose not to reprise her role due to the SAG-AFTRA strike at the time. She consulted Deck Nine on the character instead. But it's worth noting that she did come back to voice Chloe for Before the Storm's bonus "Farewell" episode (which was also produced by Deck Nine). As for Max's new look, I think there are a couple of things to take into account. One is the advancement in technology. The original Life is Strange was made in Unreal Engine 3, a game engine most commonly associated with the PS3 and Xbox 360. I don't know what engine Double Exposure is using, but it's obviously much more advanced and allows for a lot more detail in Max's face. Also, my guess is that Max is a lot older in this game. If they do the same thing that was done in the first game where it's set one year before the game's release year, then Max (who was 18 in the first game) would be about 27 in Double Exposure. What's fascinating about that to me is that if she really is that old, this would be our first time playing as a fully established adult in one of these games. It would no longer be a coming-of-age story. When it comes to the ending of the first game, Deck Nine has revealed that the player will be able to choose which ending they want as their own personal canon in Double Exposure. The choice will come at a moment when Max is talking with someone about her past. I chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay, so I'll definitely be going with that ending for my playthrough. But even with Chloe still alive, I wouldn't be bothered by her absence. Her absence would actually make sense to me. I think one thing you have to remember is that in between the events of "Farewell" and the events of the first Life is Strange, Max was not a good friend to Chloe. She didn't stay in touch and didn't seem to really care all that much about her. So, it makes total sense to me that Max and Chloe would have drifted apart after Life is Strange. Chloe might have even resented Max for choosing not to save Arcadia Bay.

If you want my advice, think of the guards as categories. The 4 main are rifle, shotgun, heavy, and melee. Hide and bait the riflemen and shotgunners, rush the melee, and pray you have a gun to deal with the heavys. And remember that sometimes a bat or knife does a job better than a gun. Most of this you gotta learn by playing tho.
