Interesting analysis… Not sure that I agree with everything… BUT if you abdicate from core brand values, then you must be courting a new segment. Lucky I got, last week, a Bremont Norton which has the original logo, and is thunderously elegant. I agree that going to a lower entry price could seriously undermine luxury brand values unless it is carefully and credibly presented.

I tried it on 4 times; it is gorgeous. The watch fits my 7-inch wrist very well. I have worn my friend’s Black Bay GMT (41mm); the 58 is a major improvement.

Didn't know until recently when I talked to a friend that is a padel player, padel was invented in Acapulco, Mexico and that was a long time ago, like '60s or '70s. Always thought it was a relatively new sport.

always liked certina divers. but this couldn’t look more valuchi like. „the material is the same and there is a ball on it.“ describes the effort perfectly. this looks and should be 9,50 £.

I just bought the 37mm polycarbon in all grey and I absolutely love this watch. I have some really nice watches, don't get me wrong, but this watch is way better than I was expecting for the price, so much so that I bought another in black. The only thing, I wish they did the sketch in the 37mm because the 40 is just too big for me. Technically it fits, I've tried on the black sketch, but visually its too big.

I really like the brand and they do have history and heritage. If the swatch group wanted, they could make a bit more of that. not really interested in their quartz watches

Certina is an interesting brand with a quality product, and lots of achievement through its history. Yet, it’s not that popular as a brand. Firstly, Certina plays in the most competitive price segment. Secondly, in Swatch group it is often overlooked in favor of Tissot or Hamilton. I hope Certina will double down on divers and tough sports watches like DS2, to differentiate itself from the competition.

Yeah, I can see what you mean about the white ceramic, but I think the Tudor would look better still. The problem with these watches is that they are just too big for most people, and t00 expensive< I mean, who's buying theses, they can't be selling big numbers, and the LH gold AMG C63 is a monster, I mean the crown looks like it will do you damage on your own hand 🤣

Meh, CvdK is principally known for prolifically using that very mass produced 7754 movement in that watch for ages. The new movements getting GPHG attention are supplied by Andreas Strehler afaik (Strehler also supplies Gronefeld). The module done for VC&A isn't even as sophisticated as a base movement. GPHG awards mean nothing btw, it's pay to win. Pay Wei Koh and his jury buddies*, pay GPHG's "entrance fee", win GPHG award with a shitty quartz knock off of a Patek 1463. *Cough* Furlan Marri *cough*. * Also have a look at what some of the jury members' backgrounds are...

New Horage movement is middest of mid. Horage was probably ecstatic to sell it to them. They'd been trying to sell it to third party watch brands for AGES with absolutely no one taking it. Which is really odd. Then along comes Bremont bailing out Horage's massive business failure.

When it comes to fine imitation watches, MaMaCoo delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.

Simon, you have the best one in the OG, hands down, the blue for me is a bit jarring on the eye. I'd love to see a reverse of the OG with white ceramic and black indices, now that would be cool (for me at least!)

I've never liked Bremont. They've started expensive while not bringing any special contribution neither to the industry nor to the customer. Now they've lowered the prices, relatively, but start producing ugly watches. So first they were boring now they are corny. I wouldn't care less if they go down the drain.

I like Tudor but they’ve never completely nailed a watch design for me. It always falls short of the wow factor and I wish it wasn’t so. I quite like the blue dial it’s a very bold look but the watch looks cheap overall.
