Like we said we have no tools for the repair. We live in a mountain community that is hours from a mechanic shop.

We do not have the proper tools and we live hours from the nearest mechanic shop. We just had to make it to the shop to get it done right

Yep we got it off and fixed to get us out of the jungle and to the repair shop

I thought it was a file at first as well, but based on the tip I'm pretty sure it's a chisel. Still flimsier than the right tool, obviously, but I'd say it has a better chance of holding up than a file does. Overall, he's got the right mindset for someone who will get through life by getting shit done instead of giving up. Bravo to him.

Yeah both hardened steel, very brittle.. and probably needs a lot of torque to break lose, but that kid has the right mindset! and i dont see the file lol it was immediately apparent it was a chisel to me, but im a woodworker lol so..

It was a chisel and it worked perfectly

Apparently you have never been in the jungle and had to work with what you have. Not to mention you have no idea the kind of vehicle we are working on and what their normal specs are

Hey, not saying you not coming up with innovative ideas! But your in the jungle, so I’m assuming it’s gonna be a Toyota or izuzu. It’s a straight axle. A rear axle. At minimum it’s gonna be 110 ft/lbs. a chisel in a socket and a vice grip ain’t gonna work, so….. fail
