It has really been one of the best seasons indeed. Just came back from the forest and although it's really late for the season in Finland, I came back with about 25 pounds of winter chanterelles!

Where are you, in BC, do you ever hunt for pine mushrooms

I am located in Finland. Pine mushrooms do exist here, however they belong to the tricholoma genus which unfortunately contains a lot of poisonous species. That is the reason I always skip them when encountering them, as I don't want to take any risks.

In hindsight it was a mistake and I realized it after having done this. At least the blade is stainless steel and not carbon steel so little harm done there. Thanks for noticing it too!

@@TheOveBoat Are you sure that it is stainless? Bluing is normally applied to carbon steels.

The mileage on land will never be recovered on nautical miles! 😜

Thanks for the nice comment. Like you, I used to go to the forest and not find any decent edible mushrooms. With time, I got more experienced. I also read some books, but I have to say nothing beats the first hand experience. Keep going out and you will start finding places. Also mark the spots on your GPS to remember the exact location that you found them. They tend to grow at the exact same spots always. I will also try to make a guide on basic mushrooms in Finland, where to find them and how to process them. Take care!

That's a good point. Somehow it seems that Finland is the promised land of handmade lures if you exclude the known Rapala, Abu Garcia factory made lures. I would say that we are a lot behind on the reel and rod situation although in recent years there have been some honest attempts from newcomers.

For garage use (voltage measures and continuity) it is a great little multimeter. For electronics I wouldn't dare to use it.
