Like obscure music? Well, you've come to the right place. In general the music I feature is material I haven't been able to find on RUclips. Everything I post is from my own private collection, as are the pictures I use for the videos except for one or two early ones. I often do some cleanup on the vinyl and cassette rips that are featured. Much of what I feature here, as well as much more of my collection, can be heard on my weekly show, Vinyl Casserole, every Sunday at 12:00 pm PT / 3:00 pm ET on www.maxradio.ca.

Great song
Thank you for uploading this and the alma mater! Super cool! Would love to hear Maroon and Gold if you ever upload it!
Wow, these are obviously Hopkins-written parts. I thought I had heard everything he did. Couldn’t tell you if it’s actually him playing, but his style is all over it. That outro part actually sounds nearly identical to “Blame It on the Sky”. I love this so much. Edit: Okay, just listened to the version from Mistaken For Granted. Despite having heard the song before I didn't even make a connection between the two. This version sounds much more convincing, and Doug-y, than the watered down performance on the album. Perhaps that is an indication that this is his playing, or it may just be that there was a greater effort to more meticulously replicate his parts in 93 than there was a year or two later when they made that record. Either way, you can really hear his style coming through on this.
To me it really sounds like him on guitar. Definitely his lyrics. Problem is those Zia compilations didn't break down who was in the band, at least not the early ones. I do think it's him because I found a site dedicated to Hopkins that I didn't when I uploaded this that confirms there was an entire cassette called "Songs of Innocence" that had Hopkins on guitar. He quit the band not too long after. The comp came out in December 1993, but the entries would have been submitted early summer.
I do think the lyrics and parts of the melody are reminiscent of other songs he wrote while in the band. They used this one on Mistaken For Granted though, and they had supposedly ditched all of his songs by then. Who knows. But as far as the guitar parts, it’s pretty clear this version either has him on guitar or someone doing his parts to a tee. It’s very interesting because I didn’t know of any officially released Chimeras material that close to his time in the band. The site you mentioned - Lost Horizons - does not cover this compilation.
HEAT🔥🔥🔥
I love this song and your performance of it!
Thanks a bunch, Eric. I'll take the pops & clicks for the chance to hear the delightful Dukes any day -- their ATJBB swings so well. Cheers.
No Loons Till Death??? No, no...that's ok. I'm not hurt.
Well, if you every get "The 7 Never Dims" / "The Fife in My Life" pressed as a 7-inch single...
Wow!! MB
A very different version of the old Stones song from Aftermath. A first attempt of the Stones in the country-rock field. Listen to the Stones original version. Brian Jones' harmonica is outstanding!

I don't care that's the difference between me and you...
I dont know how I found that song but thank u god
hi can you please upload the Entire album in indivisual songs please I used to have this album but i wore out the tape
I’m a big residents fan but I only have 2 of their records
Enjoyed the video.
Love seeing those original Residents.
I don’t often find albums at thrift stores around me. Maybe since I’m In a large city? I do buy mostly bargain bin stuff but find a lot of good stuff. I’m glad I stumbled across your channel - I’ll definitely check out your other context.
It depends on the area. The Goodwill I have usually shopped at in Tempe will have nothing forever, and then I'll luck in there on the day they have a bunch of private release gospel (not the usual stuff that shows up in the bins), old blues records, German psychedelic collections or (in one case) some New Order albums I'd pay through the nose for at a regular record store. Condition is an issue with some of them, and there are a few that are not careful where they stick their price tags. I used to get a LOT of stuff from cutout bins at mall record stores when they still existed; a lot of my Hawkwind CDs came from a Virgin store that couldn't get rid of them.
Great stuff!
The 7-inch records were especially interesting. Thanks, Chris
Very good selection of obscure records. Very cool Residents 7"s.
Terrific entry, Eric! Thanks for taking part, I definitely have never seen any of those shown before! Good luck in the contest!
Cool, obscure albums!
thank you for posting the b-side!
You're welcome!
Excellent!
Do you still have this single? It's my friends band. I have their cassette tape
I still have it. I rarely part with anything, and I love their version of this Sweet song. I pretty much know nothing about the band, other than this was a promo they sent out to college stations.
@@ericwincentsen587 Can you post the b-side of this single? I have their entire demo tape if you are interested. He and I used to work together when he gave me the original tape
@@jrtxs2001 I can definitely post the b-side. Wouldn't mind the demo tape, but doubt you want to part with the original since he was a friend of yours. I'm a bit of a weird collector when I know there are physical copies of something.

Whos on second
Maurice Andre is also on 2nd trumpet. That's how they recorded it.
