For me Pokemon peaked at Gen 5, with the impressive animated sprites. Once it went fully 3D, it started to go in a different direction. My favorites will always be OG gen 1-3. I can't touch the Switch games. Just not the same. Portability is important for Pokemon, without that it's just a meh console game. Kids still appreciate it though. I've come to terms the new games aren't for me

Pokemon games ended for me after gen 6. Alola really didnt feel like a pokemon game for me with the lack of a big region and gym leader challenge, and after that they keep cutting the national desk.. XY were the last ones to have normal gym challenge, one big region and all the pokemon that were available at time of release.

waaaaaait. pokerus was a thing before pokerogue? xD i played since red n blue but i never saw that status. but i guess with those chances its no wonder. i only found 1 shiny, it was totodile, thought my game crashed and reset xDDDDDDD edit: they removed pokerus in gen 9 ?!?!?! AND I NEVER FOUND IT IN MY GAMES?! D: at least i cant remember properly.

Peak in generation 3-4 after that it just got worse, some little things are cool, but most are just exaggerations or things that get stuck in a region and are then forgotten

The time also plays a role for certain events that can happen in Gen3 and are often tied to the TV. You will miss out on them if you time can be tracked.

One minor thing that i dont think anyone has mentioned in gen 2. It made use of the ir sensor on the game boy color and you could give random items that way.

In SV, message appears after knocking down 25 mons. So, it's not a random 20-30. I know because I use to help my friend count it. Although my friend and I have not checked if the counter is only the outbreak mon or including others in the area. So, to be safe for the 60-KO count, just keep auto battle until the message is "There is only a few left" or something like that. That's already 75 out of 100. But my friend usually only KO around 15 after the second message. That's already 65 in total.

Gen 2 was like the pinnacle of changes. Not to mention as a kid, it was one of the pokemon game in gameboy franchise that provides a lot for one game. You get the day and night thing where pokemon spawn differs, you got the pokegear to battle certain trainers again that the trainers pokemon also get stronger, new pokemon, new type advatages, the headbutt thing, the hardest gym leader ( we all know who it was lol) then after you finished the game, you get a new gameplus of kanto. A whole city again.

Pokepelago was actually so goated for growing berries And it was quite necessary because berries are your main source of sustenance during SOS shiny hunts. Using sitrus berries to replenish HP and leppa berries to replenish PP. I remember farming so many i literally maxed out both of them And also pokebeans were really fun to collect

I remember when Red/Blue were the big players. I had Red Version, and Charmander was always my go-to, though I loved all three of them. I mean how can you not!? When Yellow came out, and you could get all 3 starters, it was a big deal. I miss the 90s.
