      Hi @herbsu4330, great question! Use a square to adjust the front fence to be square to the kerf line in the base. When square, clamp the other end of the front fence to the base. Note that the runner (HDPE bar) is 3/4” x 3/8” for universal 3/4” miter slot.

      @@herbsu4330 I've not tried this, but I wonder if you either tighten the screws near the slack areas, or put slightly "fatter" screws there, if it would push the HDPE to be wider at those locations so it would take up some slack? At 1:37 in the video he talks about screws expanding the HDPE bars if the holes are too small in diameter. You could use that to your advantage.

    I'd love to see if this could support the SawStop compact. I am not quite sure how you would mount it though. The stand for the saw that is stationary is not great, and the saw is 65lbs or so, so not something I want to keep on moving back and forth to the stand. But it has these cheap looking but I guess working plastic swivel locks that go on each arm (two of them). I am guessing I'd want to mount my saw to some wood, then bolt the wood in to this stand to ensure it doesnt fall off when folding up?

    • @powertec_usa
      @powertec_usa 3 месяца назад

      Hi @b3owu1f! Unfortunately, the MT4009 will not work and is not an option for the SawStop. The SawStop footprint is larger than the MT4009, and there are no mounting holes to attach an adapter board.

    • @b3owu1f
      @b3owu1f 3 месяца назад

      @@powertec_usa So just a heads up.. I ended up going with another brand (sorry.. was $20 cheaper) the black/yellow version of this. Turns out.. you CAN fit the sawstop compact on it.. but you DO have to rig it a little. For example, I am using I think 1" ubolts.. and by adjusting the yellow (green on your unit) plates a little bit you can line them up below both legs. I am also using some ratchet straps as extra support. But it works. So it CAN work, it just requires a little extra work to mount it. I should add that the height of the saw is pretty high.. I have the Kreg fold up table (that you get with the track saw setup) and the table saw sits higher than that by a couple inches. As well the Kreg stands, at maximum height are too short to act as a feed table or side table (with some plywood on it). So.. I am building these in/out feed stands from wood that I found to work with my saw and stand.

    I have one I made with a single unit, so it’s only 6.5” wide. I have a 2.5” port running into a cyclone cleaner into a 6hp shop vac. I get very little suction. Do I need a bigger port?

    • @powertec_usa
      @powertec_usa 5 месяцев назад

      Hi @jimsprague9309, Before enlarging your 2.5” port, please check the 6hp shop vac, cyclone cleaner, and hose/pipe for any clogging. Also, check and see if the cyclone container is too full. (When the cyclone container is too full, it will reduce the suction power). Typically, a cyclone is more efficient and easier to clean than your vacuum filter, but for a big chunk, like planer shavings, it can easily clog a 2.5” hose/pipe/cyclone system. The table panel kit creates smaller debris, and dust particles and a 2.5” port should be big enough without clogging. In addition, if you connected a long hose/pipe and a lot of adapter/blast gates, it also reduced the suction power. If you have checked and there is no debris, chips, or clogging in your system, connect your down draft table directly to your shop vac. If you are still not getting a good draft, your shop vac hose may be too small, or you may not be pulling enough CFM’s. If you have more questions or require further assistance, we encourage you to message our Customer Support at info@powertecproducts.com. Cheers!

    Are the size of the blades all the same?

    • @powertec_usa
      @powertec_usa 6 месяцев назад

      Hey @tedperez4732, great question! When it comes to length, the choice of a band saw blade depends on your machine, while the size of your saw's wheels will typically determine the maximum thickness of the blade you can use. Depending on your application, there are a number of variations within a blade size. Blades widths, the number of teeth per inch, and the material type of blade can all change depending on your application. When buying a blade, check the listing to make sure it meets you needs. We hope this helps!

    Brilliant product! Unfortunately I won't be able to get a 4" dust collection system past the Mrs... Is there a similar product that will work with the 2.5" shop vac hoses?

      Hi @bniemann420, thank you for your comment! We are excited to confirm that our R&D team is working on a 2-1/2" Quick Connect Dust Collection Tool Adapter. Stay tuned for updates! Meanwhile, we recommend using the below combination to connect your 2-1/2" hose to the 4" Quick Connect Dust Collection Tool Adapter: 1. Connect your hose to the 70136 4" to 2-1/2" Cone Reducer: powertecproducts.com/70136-4-to-2-1-2-cone-reducer/ 2. Connect the 4" side of the reducer to the Quick Connect Dust Collection Tool Adapter using the 70149 4" Dust Control Flex Cuff: powertecproducts.com/70149-4-dust-control-flex-cuff-with-hose-clamps/ You're all set!

    The kickback stop supplied with the Festool TS 75 saw will not sit down in the Powertec track guide due to an extra metal shoulder on upright part of the channel. Is this a known problem or is there a solution to this? Because it's a safety concern (saw kick can back when plunge cutting) I cannot make a plunge cut using the Powertec guide rail. Very disappointed!

      Hey @michaellullo8931, we truly appreciate your feedback! The Powertec track saw guides, 71153 and 71387, are aftermarket guides that can be used with several different brands of track saws. Although the track saws fit and work with the guides, not all accessories, for a specific brand, will work. The Festool accessory kickback stop is one of those accessories that will not fit our guide. Makita and other brands do not offer kickback stops as an option but handle kickbacks in other ways. In their instructions, Makita states: “When using the tool with guide rail place the tool on the guide rail with the rear edge of the tool base against a fixed stop or equivalent which is clamped on the guide rail” SP600 page 11. WEN states that their saw has anti-kickback knobs, mounted to the saw, and does not mention kickback stops in their instructions. Here are some suggested solutions for creating a kickback stop that will work with our guide: 1. There are third-party options. ToolCurve offers a set of stops that they advertise as being compatible with Powertec Guide Rails. They can be contacted through the following link toolcurve.com/product/powertec-guide-rail-limit-stops/. 2. As Makita suggests, clamp a fixed stop to the end of the guide rail. 3. Make a guide rail stop, as demonstrated in this RUclips video titled "Guiderail Stops - simple, easy & cheap to make": ruclips.net/video/CHyL_qPgrDc/видео.html. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

    After three attempts to glue the guides to the wood so I can screw them in, I have no more holes left. This is a joke of a plan. Love the way you make it look so easy. It is all in the trash now. What a waste

    • @powertec_usa
      @powertec_usa 9 месяцев назад

      Hey @ms13352, thank you for your feedback! So sorry to hear the plan did not work out for you. May we ask what type of adhesive you used for the project? We recommend using Super Glue of any brand and applying pressure on the fiberboard to ensure full-surface connection with the miter bars. Ideally, the sled should sit for 24 hours to completely set. Also, before gluing, make sure the holes are predrilled, countersunk, and that the screw holes are a little larger than the screws. This step will help prevent the screws from swelling the HDPE (making it too tight), and keep the screw from grabbing and breaking the HDPE loose from the board. We wish you great success with your future projects!
