#11 November: Planting Over 200 Spring Bulbs on My Balcony | Autumn Garden Journal 🌷🌼🌱 #silentvlog
Welcome to my @4m2balconygarden balcony garden journal! 🌿 This month, I took advantage of the last warm days of autumn and planted over 200 spring bulbs, including tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and more. 🌸 This was a very chaotic planting session, so the video is a bit like that too.
I also added frost-resistant pansies to my planters and harvested the first lettuce of the season! 🥬 While my balcony garden is getting ready for winter, I'm already planning for next season.

    The praying mantis was amazing! I just potted up a lot of bulbs to be kept in a cold greenhouse over winter. Do I need to water them now once and just leave until they go outside in spring, or leave them 'dry' over the winter?

    • @4m2balconygarden
      @4m2balconygarden Месяц назад

      You should water thoroughly now, and then leave them until the first leaves start to emerge in spring. Next month's journal will be all about bulbs.

    Hi Cristina, don’t get discouraged by the issues with your plants over the summer. You probably just need to adjust the watering. I also have to be very careful since my balconies face south. With the cooler autumn and winter weather, this becomes less of a problem. I’ve planted Tuscan black kale, kale, pak choi, and various lettuces. The marigolds are still blooming, as are the calendulas, and nasturtium seedlings are sprouting from scattered seeds. Keep up the great work!

      Thank you so much! My disappointment mostly comes from the fact that last year I was drowning in tomatoes, and this year I had maybe ten. There's always a lot to learn from this, and I'm looking forward for upcoming months. I also would like to try kale, if I can find a small variety. Such a good idea to grow calendulas and nasturtiums in autumn.

    Man labai patinka sodas balkone... Kažkada ir pati mėginau, bet dažniausiai patirdavau nesėkmę: vasaromis augalus išdegindavo saulė, o žiemą kentėjo nuo šalčio... Dabar balkoną 'okupavo' vyras su savo mini dirbtuvėmis, o aš sodininkyste užsiimu senoje sodyboje... Tačiau gėlynas balkone mane visada žavi🥰🥰🥰 Sėkmės jums puoselėjant grožį👋❤

    Ciao, qualche anno fa avevo provato a tenere un orto sul balcone, ma è stato un fallimento, nessun frutto, tanto lavoro per nulla, alla fine ho rinunciato, però ho iniziato a guardare i tuoi video e non posso abbattermi così al primo tentativo, quindi un mio grande progetto per il nuovo autunno è inverno che ci aspetta sarà proprio quello di studiare e rivalutare il mio balcone, guardando mio padre e il suo orto ho capito una cosa, tutti i giorni bisogna dedicare un po' di tempo alle piante, alla terra, e soprattutto non abbattersi, grazie di cuore. ♥️

      Thank you 😊 I do hope you will try again. It's not always easy, but I find it very rewarding. It's very important to find exactly what plants do well in your space, which means a lot of trial and error. It took me almost three years to have a good idea about what I can plant in my balcony.

      Ciao, come tutte le cose si impara un po' alla volta. Devi imparare a confrontarti con la natura e questo è uno degli aspetti positivi del coltivare. Siamo abituati ad avere il controllo su tutto ma la natura sfugge alle regole che noi vorremmo imporle. E ora, in autunno, mentre pensi a cosa farai a primavera, inizia a coltivare qualche verdura invernale. Io ad esempio ho piantato cavolo nero, kale, pack choi e diverse insalate e probabilmente aggiungerò anche cavoletti di brussels e broccoletti. Magari inizia con poco e verifica sempre che i vasi abbiano le giuste dimensioni. Poi a febbraio potrai iniziare a seminare in casa per poi trapiantare a primavera. Buona fortuna!

    Your videos are so relaxing to watch. I'm happy you're able to garden in such a small space, and I'm sorry your garden didn't do as well this year as you had hoped it would. I'm in the USA in zone 6a and my garden this year was the best one ever. Last year's garden was a disappointment. Nature likes to keep us guessing I suppose.. My biggest joy this year was finally getting a cucumber harvest, and even more than I could eat. I've tried growing cucumbers for at least 10 years, all different varieties, and I had been lucky if I ended up with 1 edible cucumber each year.
