Lovely story. Thank you. 18/03/24 UK
Why have a German brand radio when the content is American?
Because a play is a play and a radio is a radio?

Where is the volume?
Thanks for posting I love Our Miss Brooks
It’s a great show!
Happy new year everyone. Hope it’s a year filled with love, joy and peace which we all surely need.
Happy New Year! 🎊
Cute episode
Jack Benny and his writers and cast were rivaled only by Fred Allen's. I never get tired of listening to these over and over again, and I've heard most of them probably hundreds of times over the years. Thanks for making this available - I love it!
Enjoyed this immensely and huge laughs from the audience.
"A Christmas Carol" is universally assumed to have been written by Charles Dickens, but 14 years of careful research convinces me that it was originally co-authored by two Americans, Mathew and Abby Whittier.
Merry Christmas 2023!🎄⛇ 🎅 🎁
How wonderful to spend Christmas Night with Bing !
Merry Christmas 2023! 🎅 🎅 🎁🎁
Every year it’s become a custom for me to give this a listen. Wonderful! For almost 20 years Lionel Barrymore was his generation’s Scrooge on radio. He stated this was the the role he most wanted to be remembered for. ❤
I love Jack Benny.
Me too!
The accent/ dialect is very original and funny. I thank you very much for these. M. Illinois. 🍿
You are welcome!
Merry Christmas 2023!🎄🎄🎄🎄
Same to you! 🎄🎄🎄
6:00 The distinctive and soulful wail of the toy trumpet in the previous chapter is repeated here.
thank you so much for this, these broadcasts mean so much to me and this just makes my Christmas, i cannot thank you enough
I’m so happy to hear you enjoy them! Have a Merry Christmas!
The FDR bulletin 41:47 seems to be an edit...
That seems to explain the timeline issue.
Walter watermen did a wonderful job a great replacement for Harold perry
WILLARD Waterman was pretty good, too! Merry Christmas to ALL!
When Hope mentions occupation troops and with the news bulletin announcing the death of FDR, this must be later than 1944.
That’s bizarre. I just double-checked the file, and it’s marked “12-25-1944.”
@@retroradiorevue FDR died April 12th, 1945.
This copy must be a rebroadcast of the original show.
@@retroradiorevue This has to be Christmas 1945... after VE Day. history.army.mil/books/wwii/occ-gy/ch18.htm
I thought President Roosevelt died in April of 1945.
You’re correct! It seems like this copy is an edited version.
They say "occupation troops" at the beginning so I think this is post war i.e. December 1945. The title of this upload is wrong. There were no occupation troops in 1944.
Thank you. Command Performance had the best shows!
Jack Benny one of the best of all time. Enjoyed December 20 2023 Modesto California 👍🏻
Jack Benny has always been one of my favorites.
This is a great show, one of my all-time favorites 👍🏻
Love old time radio haven’t heard this show before thanks Joe 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
11:02 Listen for a distinctive soulful wail in the toy trumpet solo. Years before its time!
Dreadful overacting here ! Painfully unfunny !
Get this and get it straight crime is a suckers road. It leads only to the prison, the grave or the gutter classic Philip Marlowe one of radios best shows enjoyed June 8, 2023, Modesto California.
Hello Retro, I just subscribed . You'll build up your numbers, in time. Thank you so much for uploading this. I'm a 48 year old, Irish woman and I'm 100 % bed bound the past 6 years. These radio dramas really keep my mind occupied, in this bed. I get fed up with books, movies, music and social media, so about a year ago, I found the American CBS radio plays and the English BBC ones. They are great and I like to try (I am a chronic insomniac!) to fall asleep or at least, relax to these with my eyes closed. God bless and take care. It is 11.14 pm, Friday the 18th of February 2022. My name is Mathona Moore but I'm called Mattie ❤️ 🇮🇪
