I really enjoy the '74 funky, laid back Berthas. While I can find something to like about every era of the Dead, most of my favorite shows are from the one drummer period. To me, the band has a nimbleness and swing that is absent from the post-hiatus band. Also, Keith was at the height of his powers. He's my favorite of the Dead's keyboard players. Note: I love Pigpen, but more for his skills as a frontman and harp player.

Any show that opened up with Bertha was very very acid worthy great time for everyone acid mushroom in Prosecco made for a great time wicked wild

Glad i caught JG with the Mighty Kahn and Tutt at the Bottom Line NYC 74 and i believe 75. Also went on the Hells Angles Pirates Ball cruise up the Hudson and back down around upper ny bay near statute of Liberty. Wild times to say the least

These tracks probably come from Keystone Berkeley 1/21 & 22/75. Another possibility is the Aunt Monk shows at the Lion's Share on 7/24 & 25/75. Jerry did not play on 7/23/75. The two performances of When I Die mean at least two shows are excerpted. Great tunes in any case. The Harder They Come is off the hook entirely. Thanks DC Cat.
