On 1 June 1969, the ARHS ran a tour from Brisbane to Landsborough and return. It was supposed to be a farewell run for B18¼ 771 and BB18¼ 1089 before they were placed in the Redbank Museum. Unfortunately, B18¼ 771 was not servicable and so B18¼ 899 was substituded. Queensland Railways -Australia

Casino NSW tour

In 1969, ARHS-QLD ran a tour to Casino, NSW using the shunting engine from Clapham (No 5035). In Casino for some reason, this locomotive was replaced with the local shunting engine (No 3122) and 5035 was left at Casino. The locomotives were switched around at a later date. This video (converted from standard 8mm film) shows some of the photo stops on that tour.

i think it was the wost thing brisbane ever did was to get ride of trams
actually cool that the first few clips are in the Herbert River area
1970 ?
Trams make so much noise, especially on turns, but at least are not producing exhaust fumes which would've been pretty dirty back in the 60's.
Electric trams electric busses. Such a shame. But in an alternative universe had the Brisbane Trams survived the Melbourne trams would have not. It was after the Paddington fire that that Brisbane guy went to Melbourne to stop the same thing happening there.
Beautiful and functional. I hope Clem Jones is down in hell, regretting what he did.
The old shirt-lifter himself did a lot of damage to Brisbane called progress...
didn't he push for all homes to have sewer connected to the mains instead of using the old thunderbox?
Magnificent thanks for sharing Russell, just shared it to 60K followers on my Facebook 20th century Melb page.
