Something a bit special for the last day of the advent calendar: none other than the return of brother-in-law Mick! (A man with many strings to his bow, one of which happens to be his amazing saxophone skills 🎶🎷). Fun fact about this song - Brenda Lee was only THIRTEEN years old when she recorded it, despite sounding like a fully grown adult. If you haven't yet caught Richard Curtis' new animated Christmas movie "That Christmas" I can recommend. We watched it this week and loved it. It's a bit sad in places, but ultimately heart warming and life affirming. "Under the Tree" is Ed Sheeran's latest Christmas single, written specifically for the film. I think it's rather lovely.

I came across this less well known Christmas carol as a teenager when we had at home one of those "100 best Christmas carols" CD collections (back in the distant past when that was how we consumed music...). Merry December 12th! Feliz Navidad was released in 1970 by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter José Feliciano. He wrote it at Christmastime while sitting in Los Angeles and missing his family in New York. This song appears in "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas" and was written by British composer Rachel Portman, who also happens to be the first female composer to win an Academy award for Best Original Score, for Emma (1996). I have been looking for a good piano arrangement of this song of this song for the last half hour, and what are the chances that you uploaded this just minutes ago. It's absolutely gorgeous, the best version I can find. Scrooge is my favorite Christmas movie (and Muppets is MY close second! ;) Are you by chance planning on releasing sheet music?? I would love to be able to play it!

Love the counterpoint on today's DDMOH and the way you pick out melodies from busy right hand inversions on everything makes me green with envy. But green's a good, Christmassy colour, right? I have played this very organ I played 134 I Believe in Christ and 114 Come Unto Him unfortunately I didn’t think to set up my phone to record it I would love to hear come Unto Him played by someone other than myself on that organ
Near the end of this summer, i will be playing the Mormon Tabernacle organ, and have been granted between 10 and 20 minutes on this fine instrument and i will have it on video!
On Friday April 7th, i had the great privilege of playing this pipe organ and i was accompanied by concert organist Mr. Mathew Unsworth! I played Great Is Thy Faithfulness and had a standing ovation to boot!
Near the end of summer, ill be playing this very pipe organ! I have been granted 10 to 20 minutes on this fine instrument by the chief principal organist Mr. Richard Elliott! Also, I will have it on video!

One of my favourite hymns. I'm an Anglican, but this hymn is a regular at my parish where I serve as Organist/Choirmaster. Unfortunately, our little parish church doesn't have room for a pipe organ, but I have access to several very large pipe organs here Oklahoma City, thanks to my part-time job as a service tech for the former Reuter Organ Company.
