The only reason for me to upload this was that the official video has a thumbnail that totally reveals what is going on on the stage thus killing the surprise. Thank you.

Известный актер и телеведущий приоткрывает завесу тайны.
I was lowkey bored the second half. First half was fun though. No hate to the actors, they were great. Its just i was personally bored in the second half. And Lilli suddenly being in love with that annoying smug mf was so sudden, it didnt feel real. But oh well its an old musical
Are/were the leads a couple irl? The kiss looks very real in the end... so do her slaps though!
I've never heard this before. Спасибо.
Just stumbled upon this! Can't see how I missed it! It's really good. I love John Wilson and usually watch the BBC Proms. I've performed in this show twice, so it has happy memories for me.
Con subtitulos en español habría muy bueno-
a couple of thousand compliments.... WOW!
2024... Still love it... Who else?
John Wilson and his orchestra - peerless!
nice try
Kiss Me, Kate. Don’t forget the comma!
Right. Without the comma, it is the 1953 movie version.
Apart from all the other terrific elements in this performance, what a treat it is to hear the fantastic original dance arrangements! And I'm glad we get the unexpurgated line in "Tom, Dick or Harry": "To give a social goose to thy position, marry me..." (the fifth word was later changed to "lift" or "boost", I believe). 🙂
Thanks to this recording, we get to hear and see Cole Porter's original and Robert Russell Bennett's orchestrations, and not all the crap that's been done to this show and its music all these years😢
Thanks
I 31
god Cole Porters pen was INSANE
I am not sure if BBC bleeped the naughty word or if it was done live with the orchestra making that sound (not sure which instrument would make that sound).
I think they bleeped it because it was showed on television
@@Purple_clouds_1 I get that but was it done after the show by the BBC or did the show have the bleep sound produced live?
@@karencarter18042 My impression is that they did this intentionally during the show, not to censor the words, but to increase the funny effect.
Best video version by far (not including the actual moving, which is it’s own thing).
Who is the second « package for Miss Lois Lane » guy? 😅
Bravo!
Awesome production.
Great entertainment indeed, great cast ... but for me KISS ME KAT is the 2-cd-set conducted by John McGlinn - here the orchestra (playing with great verve) does not offer the original orchestrations and I suffer for this. Anyway the show remains great. The BBC anyway during the BBC Proms ought to always offer the original sound of any music in programme. ... I hate the mikes on the faces!
Most likely unnoticed from the audience.
WOW. What an amazing Lilli (I Hate Men was outstanding)!!!

He “squeaks”
This was the first musical i saw live (community theatre) as a teen. My enjoyment was increased by visiting Ten Chimneys near Milwaukee, WI where the couple who this was based on lived
To my knowledge, Ben Davis never sang in a musical again, appearing in strictly acting roles. What a pity; he has a great voice.
Great musical, I saw it on Broadway late 60ths or 70ths as a young man then, It became of my favorite plays, I must say this is a great product as well. I enjoyed it and live it all over again as I did then...
That "Big Fat Juicy" has a different meaning to me...
This musical is pretty charming, but there's some padding that needs to be trimmed

A big fat juicy voice crack too
Superb, and best of anything on Utube.
Saw this on BBC 4 here in London a few days ago. I was Totally blown away by The performance that Ben Davis gave. I'm a big fan of his now. Hey the rest of the cast gave a great performance too. 20 out of 10 from me 😉😘🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I went to Butler University in Indianapolis Indiana with Ben Davis. He's a great guy and an amazing performer. He's had many Broadway credits including Baz Luhrmans La Boheme and Spamalot, among others. He's also in the Kenneth Branaugh film of The Magic Flute.
Froom tuk tok
As a young teenager I loved the film of this musical with Howard Keel and Katherine Grayson.
One of my favourites.
Absolutely delightful!

I was in a school production of KMK (McKinnon High School, Melbourne Australia) as a student, and then years later was the Music Director of a production ( 1995, St. Michael's Grammar School, Melbourne Australia.) It's wonderful to hear the great music of Cole Porter played with such style!

I’m obsessed with the costumes
It keeps cutting out every few minutes after the first half hour.
This has nothing to do with the video itself.
“I hate men” is such a hilarious song, I can’t get it out of my head. So many memorable lines 😂😂
The anthem for modern feminists lol 😆
Tony Yazbek is a God.
