A therian is something you are born as. You cannot choose to be a therian. And no, they are not like furies. A furry is a person who dresses up as an animal character, for fun, or to express themselves. Even if you don't have a fur suit you can be a furry, as long as you claim yourself as one. A therian on the other hand, is someone who has a mental connection to an animal(s). A therian is someone who believes they died as an animal and were reborn as a human. Yes, they know they are physical human. They don't use a litterbox. They don't bark at people. Some therians wear masks, tails, paws, wings, etc, depending on their therianthropy species. For example, if your a horse therian, you could make hooves, a long tail and a mask based on the horse. So it really depends. Though, some therians are bad, and are zoophiles, same with furries, but not all of them are. Hope it explains enough, and you can also look it up. (I GOT THAT YAP GENE😭)
