Great stuck!!
What size tire
31" first with stock axles and 35" when it got Toyota axles.
Nice I'm running 35s and toy axels I thought about upgrading to 37s I also have a 4.8 v8 LS
Looks like you got space to fit 37" and power to spin them :) I got a 5.3 LS in my buggy I drive now.
Did you need to change brake booster and or master cylinder?
Yes I did change the master cylinder. I tried one from Volvo 240 first and later on one from Nissan Patrol y61. Brakes was not that great, but good enough on this car. Volvo 240 fits almost right on if I remember right Nissan Patrol nog so much :)
Härligt. Mer offroad åt sverige och svensk bilsport!
all that work and money on a build and stll not as good as a mediocre wrangler
This was ~10 years ago and I could not even get a stock YJ for the total cost of this car at the time. This car was driven hard and almost never broke down. It is still working fine and still drives everywhere on the road. Maybe a Wrangler is better, but I could still not get even a bad stock one for that money here in Sweden.
Salty much? My sidekick is similar to these guys and can easily handle everything a fully built gladiator can do.
@@GJB22 gladiators high center though and not comparable to a 2 door wrangler.
Nice one😈
Thanks :)
Sweet ride
Hi , how much does it cost you to change 2-link to 4-link ? What engine did you have on it ? Very nice project !
I don't remember how much it cost to build. I use a set of Toyota LJ70 axles, 6meter 32mm thick wall steel pipe + 16 flexjoints, Suzuki transfercase, uniballs for front panhard bar, highsteer arms, Volvo rear brake calipers with parkingbrake and so. It has a stock 1,6 8valve still. A bit slow but it works very well. I sold it 6-7 moths ago. Thanks.
I want that thing with a 350 in it
Yeah, that small 1,6 is a bit to weak. But I hardly never brake anything. It's fully street legal and I drive it to all these offroad events. It's for sale soon now when my tube buggy is almost done.
Idag hittar man väl knappt någon GSI alls i Sverige...
all that work for what? so you can get stuck constantly! you should have made a video on how to use a winch, you look like a pro.
This was 5 years ago but yeah we use the winch a lot where we drive here in Sweden. I have a Red Winch Hornet on it now. It's under powered but it works nice where we drive. It's a fully street legal car so I can't change the engine to much. Currently building a v8 tube buggy to replace this Sidekick. Going for more power and suspension this time.
Did a lot of mods to Samurai's and just starting a Grand Vitara project 2002 ( Chevy tracker ? ). Along similar lines to your Tracker 👍.
1:29 Älskar gsi ljudet. :P
Buddy it sounds like you didn't warm up the glow plugs that is not so good for the engine :(
+DodoCnR That's right, did not use glow plugs this time. Got the engine for free and just want to hear if it run OK. Still stand in the shed where I put it after this video :)
that was a mighty crank! ;) did you turbo it? which make?
+TheMobilnas I got this engine like this, with turbo. Don't knew what turbo it is.
+erniesweden No problem mate. Thanks for the prompt reply. I am buying a TLC HJ60 soon, hence wanted to know. ;)
Ah okay thx for the reply. I'm trying to figure out what to do first to mine. It's bone stock so it sucks balls in the snow. Thinking of lockers front and rear.
Have a aussie locker rear, nothing in front axle. Yes still stock 1,6l. I'm building a twin engine gigglepin 8274 winch now. So I have to lie low with the upgrades for a while now :)
Still with you?
@@pt371 Sold this car to a friend 1½years ago. Now I drive the blue buggy that you see in my more resent videos.
so...no lockers after all that? Stock 1.6 litre engine?
awesome zuke stay away from the sami parts tho trust me weak n cheap
Creepy tires are a bit to stiff for my light zuk. I got bfg km2 now and they work much better for me. This Sidekick is now fully street legal here in Sweden so I drive a lot on road to. Search for "mrhawk1980"·if you want to see more of this Sidekick.
Probably going to need some more aggressive tires like iroks because the creepy crawlers are more for rock crawling then what you are doing (Just a thought)
@majicalsocks21 Thanks :) It is brown now and got Toyota Lj70 axels with 4-link front and rear, 35" creepy crawlers, beadlocks, winch front and rear, exo cage and some more :) If you want to see more of this Sidekick, search fore "mrhawk1980" videos.
that is nice!
åhhh kolla eldflamesen!!11
@jasperhulk This was my friends hj60 (sold now). I't is a 2 door pickup with toyota axels now :) 2 volvo tgb axels like those costs from around 3000 us dollars and up to 4500-5000 usd here in Sweden. They are hard to find here too now so the price is going up. Tyres like those 1300usd and rims 300usd.
Hej Ernie!
@erniesweden Great advice there from drifersideways on off road driving to an owner of an off road prepped Vitara. I have a little advice in return: Don't drift sideways, it is easier and more efficient to drive forwards, and don't spin your wheels as you will loose traction.
english subtitles pls.. thx :D OPEL KADETT GSi Cabrio by Bertone 4 life!!!
@bamaboy145 Home made and it was the first one i made. It is welded to the car so when i put on a 3" body lift it was a 3" gap under the headlights :( Looks like crap but it works;) The bumper i made on my sidekick i have now has better clearence and looks a bit better :)
@FATTER81 If i remember right the LJ70 had 2" ome and the HJ60 stock leafsprings with volvo portal axels.
what about the lift how mush is it lifted???
@NUDIIE No airlockers only a powertrax lock-right in rear axel.
@rolykiss Mercedes front springs W202 and Audi 80 92- rear springs and 3" body lift. Front axel has a homemade bracket to hold it down against the cross member. Hard to explane in english ;) It also has some changes to the drive shafts and control arms.
what changes did you do before monting de 31' tires? did you modify the transmission, front differential?
Nice Toyota!
mudding in wet concrete i see \m/
beautiful sound. How is the suspention in those leafspringed cars?
I have sold this car but i't has a 4cyl 2.4 turbo diesel and the sound in backround is from a hj60 6cyl 4,0 turbo diesel.
Car warrior, show!!!
I think it's a T-max 8500.
