Japan life. I'm a Canadian who has been living in Japan for almost five years with The JET Programme. From the moment I landed I began travelling this beautiful country (and the surrounding ones) constantly and am on my way finishing Japan's 47 prefectures a SECOND time.
See life through my eyes as I live, work and travel Japan!

Japan has been my home for the past four and a half years. I want to share some of its beauty with you and show you why I've stayed this long. All of these videos were taken by me personally (or of me). Cameras used in order of usage in this video: - Panasonic HDC-TM90 (amzn.to/1L1mgko) - Iphone 5 (amzn.to/1uuCkXl) - GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition (amzn.to/1Gx6qOK) Music: "Comic" by Jahzzar (www.b...
It’s the most terrifying rides I’ve ever been in. Absolutely scary. The beginning is called skydive because you feel like your skydiving. Some parts you are going forward and some parts you go bakwards. It’s a crazy but fun experience
My first rollercoaster. What a bad pick for a first timer! The first drop made me almost pass out. But hey at least I did it once I guess.
My first rollercoaster in modern times was Steel Dragon 2000. That was also baptism by fire!
In my opinion, I like x2 more
Wait fr?
@@Zatoka. yeah

Hello! I from Kagawa kounan! Mr.teacher!
very good!
Awesome video Thomas! :)
Cool channel you should keep more videos! I just started so its nice to see others making videos in Japan :D
Did you go to all these places in one summer or over the years? So jealous!!
***** yeah, all in a single summer! in august 2014
aah that's amazing!
That looks fantastic! Are you guys going to head down south towards Fukuoka and Nagasaki, possibly? I used to live down there, and their summer festivals were fantastic, too. This video makes me love and miss Japan so much! Keep up the great work!
Dan Smith thanks dan, i really appreciate your comment! I have been to both fukuoka and nagasaki a few times and they are fantastic! i have never been that south for summer, though. i'll check them out :D
That is literally the X2 from Six Flags Magic mountain. Favorite roller coaster of all time.
SuperFish40 cool, did not know that!
It's like x2 but it's not x2
Bro if ur even still alive, this is like X2, except far superior.
it's not X2, but it's the same model. X2 was made by Arrow Dynamics, a manufacturer who dominated the industry in the 70s and 80s with their innovative rides. Arrow went bankrupt after X2, and S&S Sansei came to an agreement with the now defunct arrow, allowing them to recreate their models. Eejanaika was made by S&S and is much larger than X2. The other 4D coaster is in China.
it's like buffed x2
Well that's one thing I will never ever do, wouldn't find me even dead near one of those haha
ahah, it's not for everyone ;)
haha, yup. Rather do more useful things personally :p
SIG442 What kind of useful things do you like to do?
The little one on the end is your child? Best of all perhaps :)
actually it's my friends' kid. his name is Lemon and he's the cutest little boy!
He seems like a sweet little kid indeed :) Can't wait for the new video's, you got some skills making these video's.
Well, that says it all.
すごい⤴⤴ q(^-^q)
omg How did you do that?!i mean how did you even set up your camera?anyway looks so much fun!I should have been there while I lived in Japan;(
ahha yeah it was pretty crazy. are you coming back any time soon? as for set up, i snuck a gopro and a head strap on to the roller coaster and put it on quickly once the roller coaster was going up. it was quite hard to do this because i was strapped in quite tightly!
@@thomassimmons4413 don't record POVs without the park's approval, it could get you kicked out or even fined if the park is strict
This ride was actually terrifying.
yeah totally agree. and amazing!
Seems like a totally fun coaster! Too bad it just isn't the same watching it on RUclips.
yeah it's way better in person!
great video bro!
ありがとう!!! Thanks a lot for uploading this amazing video. I wish I could go to Canada someday in the near future!!!! :)
yes, please definitely visit here also :D
yeah I will!!!
Thank you for beautiful video. the girl of last scene so cute!!!
thanks for watching. the last baby is a boy and his name is Lemon! hehe
Fantastic Video!! Current JET, 2nd year, living in Kagoshima right now with the goal of traveling to all 47 prefectures ( got 25 under my belt so far)^^ . Would love to capture all the beautiful images of Japan by pictures and vids as well. May I ask what camera you have been using throughout your journey?
awesome to hear! you're well on your way. i mainly used the Panasonic HDC-TM90 (www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B004JKNDLK/ref=as_li_tf_il?ie=UTF8&camp=247&creative=1211&creativeASIN=B004JKNDLK&linkCode=as2&tag=4ts6-22) if you're in Japan and my iPhone 5 mostly. A couple of shots were done on a GoPro bust mostly a split between the Panasonic and iPhone.
Beautiful.
thanks so much!
日本は最高 !!! Really great experience!! What a ride \(^_^)/ Japan is the best! Thanks for sharing. -John
and thanks for watching!

thank you for watching!
Lovely video! Thank you for sharing.
thanks for the comment!
日本の良さを一番知らないのは 此処に住んでる日本人の私達かも知れない そう思わせてくれました
thanks for watching!
日本人の自分から見ても、良い動画だと思うよ。 幾つかは見覚えがあるけど、まだまだ見てないものがあるんだな。
thanks for watching!
What an amazing few years you've had, doesn't look like you wasted a moment. I love how you've mixed the classic and refined elements of Japan with such vibrant, happy fun! (I'm in the early stages of planning our honeymoon to Japan so this was a very timely video to see!) Can I ask about the transparent streamers with text on them, shown here? ruclips.net/video/53Fzi2sy8V4/видео.html#t=32 What do they say, and where are they? Thank you for sharing your experiences, I hope you enjoy many more :)
yeah i've had a good few years here. actually all of these videos were taken in 2014 alone! i've been lucky enough to have many more great experiences which i couldn't fit into the video here. look out for more videos in the future though. and you link doesn't work but i think i know the exact part you're talking about. that is in the echigo-yuzawa area in niigata prefecture. they have an art festival there every 3 years but in the off years (which 2014 was) there are some permanent installations like this one. i can't translate them exactly but they are japanese poems. you can find out more about the festival here: www.echigo-tsumari.jp/eng/
Need to go back to Japan ASAP, loved and always will! Thanks for the video!
What's the name of the place with all the red flowers? It's beautiful! Please let me know, thank you!
Thank you for sharing movie of Snow Monkey in Nagano!. We also made made virtual trip movies of Snow Monkey and Trip Nagano from Google indoor&street view. watched the video. thanks for sharing
***** Thank for reply. I will be waiting for your next video rerated to your SAMURAI photo!
that beautiful place is the reason why I decided to go to university at 33 lol and being a 'mature student' it can get tough and this is just my first year. thank you for making this. I will favorite it and watch it when I get discouraged to remind me why I'm going to school ^^ arigatou gozaimasu
this is such an awesome comment. thanks for that!
thank you for making an awesome vid ^^
I sometimes wonder what it would be like studying in a Japanese uni. May I ask how your finding it? Are you actually studying IN Japanese? If so, what level is your Japanese at? What kind of problems do you face? If you do reply I'd be very grateful ^.^
oh I'm not studying in japan lol I took a japanese class at my uni and didn't even make it through the semester. I'm linguistically retarded to start with and I would've done worse on the second midterm than I did on the first (and I did pretty bad....like 36% bad lol). I know Tokyo University has a program that is taught in english but for university there. it would probably be better to be pretty damn fluent in japanese. you can always check the various websites if you can find one in english
Nayakepu Thank you for the reply! Oh I see haha. Well I hope you find success/happiness in whatever you pursue. Just because the uni course didn't work out for you, don't let that stop you from learning Japanese if your heart's in it. There are plenty of good (and free) resources nowadays for self studiers.
Fantastic! How can one not miss Japan after watching that video?
thanks for watching, buddy!
Without doubt, Japan and its people are the loveliest on the planet. Thank you for this gorgeous video!!
thanks for taking the time to comment!
I almost cried after I watched this video. My dream is going to Yakushima(from Princess Mononoke) and Yonaguni Island for scuba diving. There is a city under ocean. Thank you for sharing a great video.
Cried watching this. I grew up in Japan, and I visit every year. I can't wait for the day I can finally call Japan home once and for all. Thanks for making my day!
thank you so much for your wonderful comment. it made MY day
so impressed with this. I'm only 6 months or so into my first year with JET. only hope I can leave the experience with as many incredible memories. well done.
thanks. i made it a goal to see all 47 prefectures when i came here and i'm 5 away from finishing japan a SECOND time. definitely love it here still
3:18 What is this? They serve this thing on a plate still alive?
yeah i think technically it's dead but the nerve-endings are still in tact so it reacts to soy sauce and what not. i actually couldn't bring myself to eat it but i thought i would include it here because it is indeed one of those "japan things"
Great, now I have to go to Japan. I HAD STUFF I NEEDED TO DO THIS WEEK DAMNIT
heheh :D
That was coolio, makes me want to visit Japan.
hope you get a chance to one day
living the dream
