Piketon Ohio Plutonium, Neptunium, and enriched Uranium levels above background
Dr Michael Ketterer found ratio levels of Plutonium, Neptunium and enriched Uranium above typical background levels. We go to the same area and get our own soil sample to conduct measurements with affordable devices to see what the difference is versus a control soil sample. This soil is from the Little Beaver Creek/Big Beaver Creek confluence area Northwest of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon Ohio. #plutonium #neptunium #radioactive

Statistical average of counts per minute using the Radview Alphahound AB designed for detection of alpha and beta emitters. This control sample is from Portsmouth Ohio near the Ohio River. I used this as a control to compare it to soil already found to be contaminated above background levels of Plutonium, Neptunium and enriched uranium. My hope is to develope a way average citizens can purchase...

Good Tech. Report. Thank You !
Absolutely good affordable tech. Youre kost welcome and thank you for commenting.
This is important work - thank you - I’d be curious what the numbers would be at the creek bottom in Lost Valley.
@@jamesmcguire9155 I did go on a bit of the larger loop of Lost Valley Trail but didn't have enough time in the day to make the entire loop

Thank You ! For Posting This Tech.
You're most welcome fixit, glad you enjoyed the tech
Love you Paul and your research...always will!❤
I would say inconclusive since you would see both peaks for Cobalt 60 but a larger sample and or a larger crystal with a few inches of lead would definitely help
Yeah definetly inconclusive. I'm traveling so I don't have room for a lead castle otherwise I would. Perhaps a larger sample with a Marinelli container should help as this sample was only a gram of fine dust. I needed a fine dust sample to check for alpha with my Alphahound
@paulmobleyscience you can modify the 3d print so you have a cavity to add tungsten powder or lead so you get it somewhat less than background and it won't be extremely heavy
Thank You ! For Posting !
Very beautiful
Oh wow the Radview is like a digital cloud chamber.
Yeah it gives a visual idea of what's being detected. The next version should have sound with it as well and other upgrades but extremely pleased with this device.

Commenting for the algorithm. Love that you’re doing this. I’ve been beating this drum since moving here.
@Dudeguymansir Thank you so much. The algorithm doesn't push my content as you can see
@@paulmobleyscience I searched “St Louis radioactive” then filtered by upload date, honestly! That’s what brought me here. I search that every so often, because it’s like nobody talks about it. The people that want to talk about it aren’t taken seriously; the people who take it seriously don’t want to talk about it… It’s hard to find meaningful content about the issue. You’d think there would be more citizen-scientists and local chem / envi sci college students who would be out here collecting data and interpreting it. I’ve been looking to buy my first radiometer/counter to explore my area, as well as known sites for reference and verification purposes. I’m glad that I’m not alone. Again, thank you 🙏 keep up the good work. “Don’t stop beating-there’s still a lot of meat on this horse,” as my high school AP lang teacher used to say
I’m glad you’re doing this! Thank you for sharing!
@@Dudeguymansir Nice to see people appreciating the work I've put into this with the help of others. I'm working on now getting funding for the next leg of the journey to help people understand their local areas.
The peak you see at around 80 keV could be X-ray fluorescence from the lead in the shield. This line appears whenever we measure something inside a lead shield. The background gamma radiation also ionizes and excites the lead in the shield, which then emits fluorescence X-rays. Part of this radiation is also detected by the device.
@PedroGomes1974 Absolutely, That's how you can identify unknown metallic materials that become ionized as a result of a radioactive source that's behind a lead shield from the detector but not the sample
Where was this sampled at??
@neurologicalworms From an air conditioning filter in a 20th floor high rise building about 300 yards from Tokyo tower....downtown Tokyo. Hope this helps. Dr Kaltofen found a hot particle 460Km from Fukushima that had a radioactivity of 40,000,000,000,000,000,000 becquerals per kilogram (100 Bq/Kg safe levels) and made up of 80% core material. They didn't evacuate people for enough away and the inverse square law does not apply to an aggregate of point sources. Hope this helps
Thank you for what you do. Are you sending this to local officials and senator hawley? Can you check near the creek beds of Dardenne Creek please?
@neurologicalworms Already done...I measured every major area in the entire Weldon Spring area. Just look at my video list and you'll find them very quickly
I appreciate you taking the time to do this and share it also! Definitely am curious what the longer measurements show. It would also be interesting to take measurements in locations adjacent to the creek. This looks like you’re actually on the creek, which I imagine washes out pretty readily. Areas a little farther from the creek itself (perhaps even up to a mile away) are impacted by flooding and surface waters during downpours. They’re far enough away to not be washed out immediately, like on the creek itself. I bet if you took some soil samples from different points along the creek, at a few different distances from the creek’s path, at 6”, 1 foot, and 2 foot depths, you’d turn up a few hot samples!
You're most welcome sir... I take my samples using a tbar core that goes down 12 inches from the surface. The issue I see is that FUSRAP has already remediated most of these areas meaning it's been dug out and then material placed on top of the area as this is standard civil engineering practice so if contamination still exists, it's much deeper than anyone can measure from the surface area. I still have a sample I have to take a long measurement of from around Latty Avenue and Coldwater Creek area where Dr Kaltofen did his study and he only had to go down 20 cm to find it, hence the 12 inch tbar core. Thank you for commenting as it helps people realise there are others interested in this work I'm doing. I have since left the area and back home now gathering funds to take another journey just like this into other areas to get answers for people.
Thats weird, wouldnt have thought youd get phone signal through the Lead 😭☢️😋 Its like day later! Lol. Wheres the Report !!! Ok later 🌍🎼💟
@cracktower3613 Not so wierd...While lead is dense, this is very thin lead and will block much of the lower energies xrays but otherwise things still get through and unable to block all of it. Spending time with family comes first
@@paulmobleyscience thanx Paul ❤️
Thank You, Sir
You're always most welcome sir, thank you
Thanks, Paul. How do you connect to the app through the lead?
@belalugrisi1614 I thought I may have an issue but it has connected just fine through the lead and able to use the app normally
@@paulmobleyscience That is surprising, and informs us about rf shielding. The lead has a lower conductivity, than say copper or aluminum, but its density makes it best for shielding x-rays and gamma rays. Thanks Mon!
@@bélalugrisiYou're very welcome Bela
Thank you, Paul; it is good to know the areas you walked have normal background levels. The dry pond is one of the areas where the conservation department dammed up a soybean field to create a shallow waterfowl habitat. I was sort of angry when they created around 1983 it because that was an arrowhead hunting spot (gone forever), but I know the ducks and geese need it. Odd to see it dry. What would be interesting is to see if Schotte Creek has higher levels once it leaves the Lake, like testing the other side of the highway or down at the park where it enters the Dardenne. Hey, I am almost done with a fiction story about a hidden batch of coldwater creek drums in the Lake 33 area, and every time I watch your videos, I think, "Oh dang, this person has to be a character in the book." The "Luke, I am your father" scene was priceless! Maybe the next book
@bruceryba5740 Hello Bruceryba, yes the workers filled me in on the nature of the area and can corroborate what you're saying that it's for waterfowl and other birds and was engineered. What a shame the arrowhead spot is gone now, sorry to hear that. If you search through my videos you will indeed find those areas you suggested and was some of the very first areas I searched including the sport fields that are downstream and in between both Schote and Dardenne creeks. You'll find I walked the entire area of note from the Missouri river, every square foot of the actual Weldon Spring Quarry, Hamburg trail and Hamburg quarry, lost valley trail, Clark trail, around the disposal area, Francis Howell High School, Busch conservation area, lake 10 and more. Take a peek

Just one observation, it seems the iOS app is worthless compared to the Android app to pair this up with, not sure why there's such a radical difference.
@nulucid Yes I've heard nothing but bad things about the IOS...I have android and it works fantastic
The ios development is on a fast track, soon there won't be any difference.
@radiacode That'll be great news for IOS users, it's the only negative I've heard about the Radiacode is specifically the apple app.
Thank You, Paul
You're most welcome
So from these samples would you say its safe in live and swim in the weldon spring area?
As far as the surface area goes yes but we do in fact know that the uranium levels in the Femme-Osage haven't decreased and are above background levels so there must still be contamination underground. The issue then becomes contamination in the ground water, and thus, people's drinking water.
It's .... Thank You !
You above all are most welcome sir, thank you for this opportunity to share information
Was there any sign of the fire? Is that still ongoing? Thanks for the research, hope you figure out why there is discrepancy between the map and the actual on site reading!
Actually no sign of a underground smoldering event and didn't even really smell the bad smell everyone talks about here. It should be that it's just averaging it out from one marker to the next and then taking the highest and lowest based on that average...not specifically each highest or lowest measurement.
@@paulmobleyscienceit doesn't smell bad every day but oh my gosh some days it's SO bad. You can smell it while driving around by the highway with your windows closed.
Good work Paul. Hope you are doing well
So far so good! Thank you very much!
Good work all around Paul, thought you might like this video and isn't his meter the same as yours. And Gives an idea what it can take to prepare a sample for more specific analysis. ruclips.net/video/f7nHndmbl10/видео.htmlsi=gWUEGielTh5IFNly
Thank you sir...This is the typical preparation for food and yes it's the same detector. The only radionuclide this device can measure in food or water is Cesium specifically only. I have really no interest in checking food in the field nor do I have a home to have a laboratory setup that's needed for this type of sample preparation. I would just hot ash a sample rather than chemical ash if I was going to measure for cesium specifically in food. I am strictly checking soil samples and as long as the hydrogen is evaporated enough then it shouldn't be attenuated. I'm also putting my samples and detector inside a wooden box with lead lining the outside so it helps clean up the spectrum. If I find something of interest I'll just half the sample until I've separated the sample down to one or a few grams I can weigh on my scale. Although I would lose some radioactivity by hot ashing it, that's the way I would prepare a food sample in my situation
So cool watching this. I grew up on Lake 33 and sometimes fished 35, but at 33 we used to catch schools of incredibly crippled channel catfish. It will be interesting if you find anything. Thank you Paul.
I'm glad you enjoyed watching this, I'm uploading my measurements from around lake 33 lower lying areas from the spillway out to the area just East that looks like a dried up lake. Should be uploaded soon and please share with everyone you know in the area so they get this information as well. Thank you Bruceryba
