I think changing squid to dr manhattan is the best move he could do. Even though when you nitpick it doesn't make sense, manhattan is a US military asset him attacking may cause ussr to attack without checking but adding the squid in an already convoluted story would be a bad choice i think. Also i bet it saced the studio a ton of money in cgi

Don't knock it. They were actually pretty good cartoons. The same block also had animated versions of "Q*Bert", "Pitfall!" , "Kangaroo" and "Space Ace."

The title question doesn't need the what if. The New Republic was always destined to be a failure. It's in the name. The NEW Republic. It's just a replica of the failures of the Old. I firmly believe that if Palpatine hadn't come along, the Old Republic would have collapsed into a massive multi-faction civil war a few decades anyway. It can be clearly seen in the prequel. The Trade Federation was in essence a private army, one of many that were growing or being fostered by worlds. Worlds were arming themselves. The only thing Palpatine did was speed up the process. He started a much more controlled two-party civil war and then overthrew the Republic. This however had a consequence, it made it look like the Republic hadn't actually failed it, it had been, subverted destroyed, hence the Rebels. The Alliance to Restore the Republic... Restoring a failure is still a failure.

Do you guys read comics? Cass has been Batgirl again for at least a year and a half. The Batgirls series and the current Birds of Prey ongoing feature Cass as Batgirl again. Now that I'm doing g the math it is looking like more than 2 years+ since she put back on the costume.

So after those two issues I checked & next appearance of Puma isn,t till Spec. Spiderman 111 & Amazing,s 273,274 so what happened between the lines so to speak? Next we find Puma trying to kill the Beyonder, telling Spidey what he already knows about Beyonder being greatest threat to humanity, just that does Spidey ever ask Puma about their first meeting? Spidey,s like what the heck was all that about dude? Puma,s like oh yeah,heh heh! Sorry about that the Rose hired me to go after you,my bad!😅😂. Lol. Just wondering about that. Amazing Spiderman 274,does Spidey ever find out what was going on there at all? Lol.

*Glover & Rosenbaum made what could have been a teen soap opera worth tuning into each week. Lex & Lionel were such complex characters. Loved Lionel's evolving an evil antagonist into a heroic figure who protected Clark with his life & Lex's devolution to an insane power hungry megalomaniac who made it his mission to kill Clark by Season 7. With both men gone by Season 8 the show lost a lot of its appeal in my opinion.*
