Humanity isn't made for the "simulation" we are all living in. Humanity is made for beauty, simplicity, love. Chester couldn't handle the things that were wrong with the world. There wasn't anything wrong with Chester, the world (our society) had wronged him, and is wronging us all in some way right now. I'm not saying his death was avoidable, but that his tragedy becomes powerful by teaching us how to be better. I just learned today from a podcast that the Unabomber suffered great health issues as an infant and was never regularly held by his parents as a result of being in a hospital setting so often. As a father of 2 young boys my heart broke hearing that. Please, please, please everyone, especially if you are a parent, or an uncle/aunt/grandparent/important family friend, love the children of this world and let them know they are loved. These existential senses of self are formed so early. The downstream effects are truly life and death.
