This is the relentless traffic on Friday night at 8pm. Thank goodness there is a skywalk above it all.

@@FabulousNomad Does the skywalk run the length of the street? Or just across to get from one side to the other?

@@markshveima It's not the whole length of the street, but it goes pretty far and goes in this case from the MRT station underground to the BTS skytrain. They have these all over the city, and the walkways often have permanent shops along the sides, for everything from getting eyelash extensions to a cup of coffee or a carton of milk. Super convenient.

@@FabulousNomadSo it is an underground walkway? If so, that is very much like here. There are huge labyrinthine like tunnel sequences in parts of the subway and underground trains with a variety of shops, from supermarkets and convenience stores to restaurants and cafes of all types. Some even have many different clothing shops and houseware stores too. Super convenient for sure.

@@markshveima Yeah, it's very much like that only it's not underground, it's elevated above the street and it's covered, but open air.

Yes, I saw the storm warning! Just stay inside -- the storms are furious, but pass fairly quickly. Keep your computer and things away from the windows and you should be fine. My internet and electricity stayed on during the storm, which was a relief. Good luck and stay safe!

Hi Denise. It depends on where you are. If in Asia, you should be able to find these easily. If outside of Asia, you might try online or in your local Chinatown or Little Saigon areas.

Everything around here is an advertisement, this was probably one of the more subtle examples of product placement! Glad you liked the music. I'm not a fan of Xmas music generally, but I really liked these tracks!

So glad you enjoyed the nuances! The Strip is a vibrant, busy and sometimes crazy place, but with the right music (and mindset), it can be an urban meditation. Everything is constantly flowing: traffic, people, water (so many fountains) scenery, escalators:)

@@FabulousNomad I was definitely feeling the flowing, meditative qualities, but admittedly that is more than likely due to the musical accompaniment complementing your camera work. I might feel a bit less meditative hearing the normal hustle and bustle. : ) Speaking of meditation, one thing I neglected to ask about was the incense and what seemed to be a Buddhist statue, casually surrounded by a retinue of small elephant statues, which you did label as Shrine in the time stamps. It has a Thai Buddhist feel to it. Is it a Buddhist shrine in the middle of the Bellagio area?! By the way, I really loved the way you dissolved from the small elephants to the garland to the incense, and then presented the statue. And one more thing was the trident that popped into view in the distance behind the Buddhist statue. For me, immediately brought Shiva to mind, but now, upon further reflection, considering the presence of the larger indoor displays featuring Artemis/Diana, and other Greek gods, could be symbolic of Poseidon. So maybe just part of the branding of a casino or hotel?

@@markshveima Yes, the music makes the mood, always. It took me a while to decide what direction to go with the music. The Buddhist shrine was a surprise. I just happened to stumble upon it, tucked away in a corner. It looks to be Thai. I just loved it! And that trident you saw is actually the logo for Hell's Kitchen, just around the corner. It's Gordon Ramsey's famous restaurant. So really, it's meant to be the devil's pitchfork.

@@FabulousNomad The devil's pitchfork! Haha! And what do they serve in Hell's Kitchen? Or is this a reference to the (in)famous NYC area?

@@markshveima Beef Wellington, pan seared scallops, sticky toffee pudding...I guess the fare in hell has a British bent? A veg and vegan menu too!

So glad you enjoyed it. The sky was such a coppery color that day. It made for a dramatic sunset, but I prefer clean air and the typical golden California sunsets. But...it was great to get out and see something new. The bay is always beautiful, and feels like home.

Yes, I made it out of Vietnam. I'm back in the States, I got both my vaccine shots and I'm waiting for things to get under control in Asia so I can return.

I'm glad you enjoyed this...I really loved it! It's very different to walking, you really get a sense of freedom and movement, and a mental image of the city. It was amazing to finally get out of my studio apartment, feel the fresh morning air watch the dim early morning light bloom into all these colors that are very particular to Da Nang. Hi Mark, thanks for joining me on the bridge! You are right, there are several lighted bridges in Da Nang, it's kind of their thing. Each one is different, but they went through a lot of effort to make them each a spectacle in their own way. It's one of the things that make night walks such a treat here. And it also encourages a kind of festival feeling under the bridges, where people naturally congregate, vendors set up food and entertainment and everyone enjoys the end of the day. I appreciate it because it's great for friends, there are family friendly areas and none of it is expensive, which makes it accessible for a lot of people. It would be great if more cities created these kinds of spaces. Also, I've never noticed any rowdiness -- it's always very relaxed and wholesome. I always feel completely at ease.

It's understandable. So many Californians are feeling the same. I know people who have sold their homes and moved out of state. Personally, I'm very happy in SE Asia.

Hi Ken, nice to see you here. Indeed, this is footage I took just before I left the US for Asia, in 2019. I spent the summer in Marina Del Rey, and my morning walk was down to Venice Pier, then often up to Venice Beach. I miss it so much, I grew up in LA. My friends tell me that since I left, Venice Beach has become a homeless camp, and no longer looks anything like the scenes in this video. But in my heart, it will always look just like this: sunny, free spirited and kind of quirky.
