'Sonic Anomaly Show' Portland Ghost Tunnels 2016; Artist Lee Berwick.
Просмотров 4478 лет назад
Part of the b-side Festival 2016. This art work is exploring sound confined within the space of the deserted Victorian High Angle Batteries on the top of Portland, known to most locals as 'The Ghost Tunnels'. Hearing these sounds and voices echoing through the disused tunnels help create a certain ambience, sometimes a rather ghostly effect which only adds to their mysterious atmosphere. The so...

The Nothe and Newton's Cove are one of Weymouth's hidden gems. A canopy of trees conceal beautiful gardens and a secluded cove partly enclosed by the historic Portland Breakwaters. A place where kids can search in the numerous rocks pool and play to their hearts content in the gardens. Popular with the boating fraternity too.

    why didn't you make them a proper home???? they sell quite cheap nesting wooden waterproof homes with a room and an anti predator hallway for whole families. they might have been hiding inside plastic cover because it is waterproof and now they don't have any home to go to. don't put baby hedgehogs in a bucket, they will drown when there is a heavy rainfall. not only that.- they will be wet and will lose the body temperature.

    • @Jazz-cf5hr

      Paulina I took advice from a local lady who rescues hedgehogs before I did anything. The bucket with straw in the bottom was only used to transfer them to another part of the garden safely. They had become trapped in the plastic cover and were scrabbling frantically to get out, which is how I discovered them. The place where I released them had a deck with wood and leaves stacked beneath as a hedgehog home and I have others dotted around my garden.

      @antonen87 3 года назад

      @@Jazz-cf5hr did the mother eventually take care of them, or did she leave them? Anyways, I'm feeling graceful for you for taking your time to release them!

      at the last count we have seen seven large hedgehogs wandering the garden at night, so presumably some of these were the babies.

      Exactly. I felt sad the author just moved them away. I thought as her title suggests of "rehoming", that she had a home ready for them to settle in, a set of logs or wood put together, or sending them to a Hedgehog rescue place in the area, but nothing that tells about rehoming shown in her video, apart from picking them up and putting in a bucket and or basically sending them away.

      Pete Not to be harsh or anything but I have been going to Weymouth for the past 2 years, this year being the 3rd in 3 weeks(1st year, my family went to the seaview haven park, 2nd year we went to the waterside park and damn that was nice. That's probably why we are going back there in August). Anyway...the Riviera hotel looks nice but me and my sister went to look around and it looked abit dirty. Still a nice hotel though👍

    Susan, this looked impressive. We holiday at Weymouth every year and were "fortunate"? to be there late enough in August 2017 to see this year's Carnival. What happened?! Waited so long for it but it wasn't really the lateness that disappointed, it was the content. This video shows that last year's was at least twice as long!

    • @susanhogben9791
      @susanhogben9791 6 лет назад

      Sue Bradford hi Sue, like most things, costs and more multinational companies in shops as opposed to family businesses means less floats. A lot of us local reminisce about the days when the carnival was choc a block with amazing floats and creations and would take a good couple of hours to pass by. Then we used to have big companies like the AUWE etc here. Those that do enter try hard so good on them. It also takes many volunteers to fund and run the event, which is getting harder each year to find people willing to give up their time. So sad. But it's a long family tradition with us, lots of our children, grandchildren come down for carnival week.

    • @suebradford890
      @suebradford890 6 лет назад

      Susan Thanks for the reply. Our own carnival here in Stevenage was stopped years ago, and I dare say it's the same all over the country, it's down to cost and time for volunteers to help out. However, we love Weymouth!

    The miss the most important historical item that would have been on the film in real life would have been the trains on the harbour. That would have made it so real.
