Hello, I like those front forks, compared to the newer inverted forks.
Hm bro?
In 2007 I went to BMW to BUY an RT. I had looked at them, test ridden them and sold my K1200LT. It was going to be an RT. BUT - my best friend and riding buddy had just returned from a package motorcycle tour of Europe where they had given him a GS for the trip. He came back and told me it was the best bike he had ever ridden. I decided to look at the GS and bought it after the first ride. A Russell Day Long Seat later and it was truly the swiss army knife of bikes. A fun hooligan stripped down, a comfortable tourer with the bags and Russell Seat, a capable all road rider (tarmac, gravel and dirt). Other than true off road - which many of skill greater than mine manage - it is the perfect bike. It has turned me off the full boat tourers like my LT, and the RT I was looking at. I loved my 2007, but really enjoy the 2015 I upgraded to as well.
I have 2005 K1200s, at 58, no problems. But RT is my next option.
.....I own my Rt2010 for 2 years, now.....I am almost 64 but don't feel old, yet. Love the wind protection and the comfort.
I bought the GS a couple years ago because it was the thing to do. I thought I would do some BDRs out west. No surprise I haven't yet and probably won't ever get around to it. I'm too old at 59. The RT would have been a better fit for me. But it looks too much like an old man's bike. I love my GS. It makes me feel young again. Go figure.
Fly.
I sold this bike for one reason and one reason only. Changing air filter was way too much trouble... not worth it.
Update. I still miss the bike. I've been through several bikes in the last 4 years and it's still an awesome bike. I paid 6k for the bike 4 plus years ago. Still haven't found another deal like that one.
Promo*SM 🌸
I owned one... Incredible handling and acceleration. Build quality was really good. Only reason I sold it was the fact i was just riding at Warp Factor 10 (everywhere 🙈😂)
Looks lovely in red...only 17 still registered on the road in the UK...I've never seen one!
I had no idea that was the case in UK. I still miss it.
I’m picking one up, uk based, this week! Also never seen one before. Was between this and a GS and I saw 5 GS’ on the way to the dealer so Aprilia is was.
@@anthonydove2076 Not the white one from Robinson's? Enjoy
Beautiful bike, mine is a 2012 I put at least 400 miles a week on it, doesn’t miss a beat. I bought it used, it came with the BMW navigation system, bmw tank bag and police cooling fan, bike is loaded like yours. This is my 6th BMW. Have 5 other makes/models also but this one is my go to and if I could only own or have one, it would be this one.
Feel the same way about the 2013. Don't have the cooling fan though.
Sounds like the dry clutch. Perfectly normal imo

It's you input shaft vibration dampener. A common boise. Does no harm. There is a shim against a spring that controls torque backlash into the transmission. the shim is a little small. It's a nuisance but not a problem. Mine has done it since about 50,000km. Now at 160,000km. It's most pronounced when the air intakes get out of balance. That's a pretty simple thing to remedy, though. Enjoy the bike - it's nearly indestructible.
That's a pretty simple thing to remedy. ¿¿¿¿¿¿ How ??????
@@Reyls looks like you have to balance the air vacuum pressure(throttle body sync)
Was wondering,,how about maintenance,, expensive compared to the fjr?
Excellent review. I’ve heard bad things about the throttle by wire on this model but not for failing nor breaking but simply because it’s hard for some riders to get used to using while others complain that there’s a slight delay. I still love the bike. Is it hard to get parts or repairs for ot?
I have a 2002 capo and parts are hard to find. I have to cross reference everything but boy is it worth it! Favorite bike I’ve ever rode
@@oldman2378 Thank you for your reply. Greatly appreciated. 👍
Well, for my experience with a shiver 750, the first naked where aprilia used ride by wire, yes there is a bit of delay in the throttle after accelerating, but it is the same for all the motorcycles with a two-cylinders engine more or less.
@@rrBiker_ Thank you!
1290 has the same wheel. You don’t even know what you have???….it’s NOT a R
I know .... pretty sad but I'm unfamiliar with KTM adventure bikes. I learned a little bit now. It's from listening to too many Frank Zappa songs, made me hard of hearing...
Love it bro🔥🔥🔥
thx for the tutorial
Riding a '99 blackbird currently. Thinking about selling it and getting this. There's one on sale at a local bmw shop for 8499$ with 27k miles. Hmmmmm.
I had a 98 blackbird and it's a truly awesome bike but as you know a different category. That's not a bad buy on the RT. Winter is the time to buy. Blackbirds are getting hard to find though. If your thinking about putting some miles down on the slab (in comfort) then by all means... this is the bike. It's the last one before they started slapping all the electronics on it. I've now hit 40k with this bike and I have 85k on my 2009 GS 1200. The RT hasn't missed a beat once. If your riding in the cold the heated seats (front and back) and heated grips are the only way to go and there's always the cruise control which is flawless. I can't go back to a chain and no cruise control. I have manual one on my GS and I hate it. I'm gonna sell it and get like a 2013 GS or later with Cruise. On a long ride (over 200 miles) cruise control is a deal breaker or maker for me.
Layoff the weed guy !
I keep wishing for this and the 1250 GS but it just isn’t working and I can’t figure out why
My wish came true on a GS, I bought one with 85k on the clock. Perfect condition for the age great price. That's the beauty of BMW.
Hey sir. Are you a free and fair election denier? BTW absolutely beautiful RT.
We never had a free and fair election since I been alive.😕
Garbage bike complete ripoff company CO did the bolt .
The guy doesn’t seem interested in shooting the video 😆
As much as I hate to say it, I really wasn't impressed with the performance of the bike. I liked the Aprilia Caponord twin much better in every way except maybe looks. and looks without performance, not that stimulating.
Beautiful bike !
Good review! 👍 I ride an 06 and really enjoy it. 🏍️🙏
Thanks! 👍
Without doubt the most beautiful motorcycle on earth .NORTON COMMANDS all other motorcycles .The TRIUMPH THRUXTON R .TRUMPS THE REST .
Getting one just in the process of saving up to buy a later model got a gen2 tuono at the minute so want to keep the v-twin engine character.
"2FA makes sense mostly for custody services. But it won’t help when using decentralized wallets as Atomic Wallet, where you fully control assets by owning private keys. If someone gets your 12 words, he can restore the wallet on any device, disregarding your 2FA protection. So take care of your backup and you will be safe" ! This is message I received about Atomic's two factor identification. I let you decide what you think about it.
Hi, I am considering buying a Caponord, how long did you own your one? And for what reasons did you decide to sell it? Looks like a great bike. Cheers.
Was gonna get a ticket or killed and that's the ONLY reason. It's a fabulous bike ! Traded it for a 2015 Norton Commando which was a mistake. Norton was a rattle trap compared to that bike not even close...No comparison. I paid about 4k more the Norton. Had Capo for about six months and occasionally I'm still perusing Craigslist for another one but I got the deal of a lifetime on that one. It's been about a year now I got it with 1500 miles for $6k (no joke) the bags were scraped up underneath from the boat ride.
Thanks for the reply mate. I have since bought a Tiger 1050 2011, had one two bikes ago and realized that I had to get another one because it's so dammed good, it ticks so many boxes.
The side stand that you have the bike on now, is aftermarket. The one you call #3 is the stock spring loaded side stand.
Hey thanks for the pointer. I've never used the stock one. I'll probably try it out (stock one) but I'm thinking there must be a reason for the after market one.
@@kellyjohnaThe reason is because the stock one is shit… Hard to deploy, if the bike rolls forward it’ll retract, bike is then lying on the ground
boxter engines are in posches, thats a boxer
In Porsches the're called boxers as well
Actually Rainex has polish in it so you could use it to wipe off the lime and you have it polished.
nice review, I love your impression reviews of the bikes you own, are you still this positive about the BMW? And did you got any problems with it?
Yes I am! But I have to admit I now bought a 2009 1200 GS with 83k on her and man this could be the one bike that can actually do anything. I had ridden 2021 GS's but never gone offroad. Then when I bought this one I took her off road the first day nothing very intense but still, way better than what I expected !
TVS motors now owns Norton!
It’s a great bike!!! I have a 2015 Caponord TP, and absolutely love it!! I’ve had a 2009 750 shiver, a 2013 Tuono, and this bike is my favorite by far!!
I traded it for a 2015 Norton 961 Commando Sport. Got outrun by a new Camry. Immediately wanted my Aprilia back. But I have had many people ask me about the Norton and want to take pictures with it. I still like the Aprilia better though...
Hallo mate. I considering to buy this bike but I have read at Aprilia forum some reliability issues.. You had issues as well? How many km you have on the clock? Thanks
@@vageliskoios1062 Not too much I bought it with 1500 for 6k usd can you believe it ? Sold it when I had 4k nerry a problem except I was gonna get killed or get a massive speeding ticket :). Check out my video on my 2009 BMW GS 1200.
After riding Harleys for decades, I was in the market for a sport touring machine, I test drove the multi-Strada‘s, Yamaha, BMW GS models, etc... And then I stumbled across this bike and after a test ride I just absolutely fell in love with it. I bought it without hesitation... I’ve now put three or 4000 miles on the bike and honestly I can’t wait to get back on it. Smooth, fast, comfy and considering the power plant, great gas mileage (a nice surprise) and the handling suites me nicely...
I know Im asking randomly but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Brodie Jake instablaster =)
@Aaron Dominic thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Aaron Dominic it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy! Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
@Brodie Jake No problem xD

Well dang... you just shot down my excuse ! I grew up in Irving.
It’s Boxer... not Boxter engine. I’m shopping for one of these to replace my 1996 R1100RT... Rode one North to South from Cairns to Sydney Australia on vacation and fell in love. Thanks for sharing the passion!
Ha ! I'm from Texas we are highly trained in mispronouncing stuff. Thanks for the clarification. I'm still riding it and I've gone through two other bikes since I made this video. But I'm keeping her that's for sure. After I ride the other one's it just helps me remember why I like the BMW so much ! I had a FJR (Sold) and an 2015 Aprilia Caponord which I still have and really love the bike but it's a completely different type of bike and the Cruise Control, it kind of works...
Nice, those 13 model 90 year RT`s are sweet looking too. I have always loved them. Just purchased a new 18 model RT. Coming from a 14 r1200GS. Great video, thanks. Here we go.
Man I have been drooling over those 1250's ! But I'm trying to hold back and see how that cam shift thingy holds up over time. I think my '13 was the last of the most simplistic design.
Nice review.
I have not. But I'm not sure how you could improve on perfect. Mines lighter...
Curious have you rode a 2014+?
Not sure what the original problem was... but seems like could be the problem with mine... just keeps saying turning on wifi! Ill try it.... Thanks
cracked the case open... took the cable off and back on... worked :) Glad this helped :)
Ring doorbell ONCE, not 8 times in a row. I hate people like that. lol
