This is what I’ll say to black Americans going to visit Africa, learn about the country you’re going visit (As you should any country). Study the main language, learn the currency, and hopefully you know someone there that can show you the in’s and out’s. I’ll be very blunt and honest, the minute Africans hear American accents, they hear money. They’ll up the prices and try to cheat you. They do that to native Africans that return, so therefore, native Africans never speak English to not get harass or swindled out if getting scammed. Please, I beg, leave the attitude, tidiness, arrogance and ignorance behind. I know most of you aren’t like this, but also, some are. You have to be careful no matter where you are in the world. People are people, you will encounter good ones, and bad ones, be prepared to know your surroundings, and if you’re believer, pray and fast for your trip to go well. This is what I do and I’ve yet to face extremely bad encounters on my trips. I prefer some countries more than others, but overall, everywhere I go, I find something about the country I love.
