@@Tennesseemountainhomestead He swears he bought it at Lowe’s. It’s not a bad mower I wish it would let you mow backwards without hitting a button every time. I mowed by the house with it and hopped on the box tractor for the field. It was that annoying!

@@AbbyNormalGarage the L120 I bought (now the Rebel) had a button you had to push to reverse while the deck was engaged. It’s a 2004 model too.

@@rockdeed2419 is it one of the ones that goes in the air box cover that prevents you from crushing it when you tighten your carb nuts? That’s the only spacers that come to mind

I think I found that it goes on after you slide the carb on between the carb and air filter box, sadly it still won't stay running. Learned a lot though.. ty

@@rockdeed2419 what’s it doing? does it run with the choke on or partially on? Or is it flooding out. Couldn’t hurt to go back through it. Flow some fuel from the tank to a jug to make sure it flows freely. Go over each jet and passage in the carb with cleaner and air make sure they’re clean. Another thing I’ve seen is the metal inlet to the carb rusts on the knockoff carbs and stops fuel flow. Check your float height it should be level with the body. Another thing to check is to make sure the needle is seating. You can check this by putting a small hose in the inlet to the carb and blowing with your mouth. With the carb right side up you should be able to blow freely. Then flip the carb upside down and repeat. You should not be able to blow any at all. Its fixable!

@AbbyNormalGarage cranks right up, runs like it's supposed to for a couple minutes and just dies. Went through everything again. Should the gas be a slow drip or steady stream out of the on/off valve? Disconnected the oil safety or whatever.. same thing

@@rockdeed2419 steady stream! When it dies does turning the choke on or spraying carb cleaner in the carb save it? Sounds to me like it’s running out of fuel after a few minutes. Could be the shut off valve is the issue.

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead best part is driving down the road. I really can’t wait to make a street legal tractor with the 302 from the truck. It will either be an epic mix of cool and sketchy or ugly as can be!

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead thank you! We try I’m glad he decided to fix it. So far the customer likes it. Better than he remembers it used to be. He’s a mail carrier that always has perfectly shined cars. Had to make some postal jokes!

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead lol don’t do it. You got like 10 to show you need at least 1 to mow! I’ve got 8 wheel horse’s I mow with 4 I play musical chairs with 1 48” side discharge. I had to make a joke!

It’s definitely a possibility! I do the montages usually for 3 reasons. The first is I couldn’t get my lines right in the moment or something got poorly explained. The second is someone is on the phone with my day job and I’m just trying to get something done. The 3rd is I’m trying to avoid an hour long video. That format seems to work for some. I’ve done polls and the past with no feedback. I’d like to do what the core viewers prefer. I appreciate the feedback and apologize for the late response. It’s been slammed these last few weeks.

@@vinceruland9236 yes the only thing you need to worry about on these carbs is where the drain screw is and can you get to it once installed.

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead I grew up watching Smokey and the bandit and knight rider. Always had a soft spot for the GM F body’s at least 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen’s. After that forget it. I like the older mustangs. The fox to me reminds me of a v8 version of a civic. I know a few that grew up with them and loved them. It’s not that they’re bad cars. I’m just more into long curvy coke bottle type cars. Never drove a fox to know. Anyways. Thanks for watching! We had fun.

@@LaneProductions327 the orange one? That’s crazy I never thought of doing anything like that with verticle shafted mowers. I can’t speak out they do in mud unfortunately I painted this one! It does ford the river and run some logging trails. I’ve never got it stuck. I can imagine they would do well the lugs on the tires are very deep and would probably self clean.

@@gottabsleeved as far as I know yes! I don’t think I’ll make it this year. I just showed up in the truck with tractor last year nobody gave me any problems.

No worries! I picked that up from you seems to help. This one was a chore. I have more patience than I used to but I’d be lying if I said I’ve never lost it. Usually we edit those moments out or go montage mode. This had some chew marks not nearly as bad as the tiller we just finished. There’s some reward in saving things. This one is owned by a buddy that works for the post office. Wish I would have thought of the Junkmail Cub name while I was editing. I try to stay behind the camera but it was to cute to leave out. @@Tennesseemountainhomestead that’s how my dad showed me as well. So simple it never fails. Tried to use gloves to avoid the mess and they tore. My only objection to painting the trailer is it’s a working trailer and it would be crappy to be able to paint the trailer and not the car. That back wing is pretty bad. I can’t see it when I’m driving so I’m fine with it in that sense. I get a chuckle every time someone at John Henry days said look it’s got a trailer hitch! When I get the 14’ skiff back up here I’m going to take it to the lake with the car to mess with people.

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead Good question on the generator. I was wondering how the regulate the frequency. Maybe it’s a DC generator and charges batteries. Maybe it’s not a generator but what else could it be. I’ve seen the crown Vic chargers right before they get totaled in a jump. Ind of an oddity to see one cruising the local car show! He did power tour 2024 with it. When I bought the car it had a 90’s 350 truck motor that blew blue smoke like crazy and a T-10 4 speed witch sounded sweet. The car originally was an automatic. I was working a traveling job at the time so I had them rebuild the 350 into a mild 383. They say it’s probably around 450hp. I sold the T-10 four speed to put a TKO600 5 speed in. I bought the car to drive and it Definitely helps. Gas mileage is 17-18 mpg @ 70. It’s terrible towing In that regard. It got 10 mpg going to talcott. I’d imagine the light spring on the secondaries on the carb are to blame. Not going to change a thing though. Now I need to get AC back in it and repaint it. It’s got some spots that give me nightmares. That’s probably a few years out at this rate. Too many irons in the fire between the truck motor, tools, and boats. I’m spread a bit on the thin side. Judges have families too! Either that or it looks factory and people don’t grasp what it is. I’ve had several people ask were they can buy one. Who knows. I don’t Care if I win or not it’s more like really at some of the stuff that does.
