I've been teaching middle school in Utah for the last 2 years and I read Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy to 6th graders, but I begin with your video. The students love to listen to your voice and learn a lot from your video. The story, Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy, is part of the curriculum that I teach. I live in Maine and I never heard of this story until my mom told me this year. My mom told me nobody in Maine ever wants to talk about this story.

I just finished reading This Other Eden, a fictional account of Malaga Island. While the book is very well written, it doesn't substitute for the actual history of the residents of the island. I've been reading a lot about it since I started the book. I did not know anything about it before reading the book. Thank you for posting this. It's a great account.

That's craaaazyyyyy he had to have done about 1 mile per 12 minutes (or a lot less if he was potentially drinking or on a chemical or insanely strong) and making it in about 144 minutes-ish in total. Dude went 2.4 hours in pitch black great white infested freezing winter waters to kill. That's wild! The whole story is so nuts. Great video!

He never really like Lori like the rest of the dept, why not kill 2 birds with one stone! Kill your ex wife be free of alomoni payments and frame your current wife who the whole police dept hated! The story of our family who are dedended from Issaic Darling. As my memory serves me was a bit different from this retelling. I heard it over twenty years ago as it was handed down to me from family members, at the time I was getting married. I was gifted with the history and I was given a book about bear island. I wonder if there is more here to tell? However, the real story of shame and prosucustion felt from the distastful idiologies of cultural indetity and eugenics propaganda was still felt and pushed on many of the decendents of our family. The continued insistance of mental and genetic impurity being the fault of our blood till the 1990's.

Geez, just watched your video on growing up Black in Maine. Sorry you had to experience that sis, but the flip side of it is that those overt racist experiences have made you extremely socially aware as a Black Woman. I hope that you get out of Maine. Peace.
