Swinley hoping to avoid the slop!
We drove around the M25 to avoid the slop to get a good ride going.
It was a good fun but messy ride.

Met up with the chaps for the first muddy single track ride of the winter. Seems like I'm having GoPro battery issues again 😕 #mtb #emtb #emtblife #singletrack #muddyfun #fast #fail #localtrails #local #danbury

BPW - slightly damp lol

It was wet, then got wetter, I ran out of battery on the GoPro and knew if I went back to the car to get a spare I wasn't going back up lol! Wore down the brake pads by lunchtime, again rather than changing them, we had lunch and went home! The New #TrueTune was awesome on this terrain, it took out the small chatter and smoothed out the bigger drops.
Fitting and testing out the #Truetune fork insert.

After listening to the @downtimepodcast discussing their experience of using the @trutuneuk insert, it sounded like I needed to get one to try myself. Really easy to fit, and it has done what I wanted to achieve, after injury I'm very sensitive to small bump compliance and trail chatter. I think I need a little bit more pressure as the sag mas a little bit more than before even adding the 5% so...

absolute swinley shredder!
3 months on, what do you think about the Alpkit nest now?
@ragnarokmaker I love it, just took it off today for the winter but used it up until last weekend. It's warm, well made and comfortable. Only thing I would improve is the instructions for use lol 😆
How far were the trails from the YT mill? Picking my Jeffsy core 2 up from there later this week and might take it out straight away from the mill.
Riding it's about 3-4 miles. I could share my Garmin ride
What do you think...I'm using more travel with mine...but I have also got a bit fatter 😂
I'm impressed with the feeling but using too much travel at the moment, need to up the pressure to get the sag correct again.
Yeah I'm going to up mine...feels very grippy but a bit too soft for take offs...gonna match the in rease at the back too...
Hi, do you think this would has as big of an effect on a lower-spec fork, with less travel? I have a 130mm Rockdhox Recon RL (32mm stanchions). Not sure if it would be a waste of time, and I'd be better-off putting the money towards a better fork?
Hi mate, I don't even know if they make one for 32's. I would say that a decent set of forks makes the world of difference. @tobymusson8413
@@vwsurfbum website says they do, but I presume it's a case of " putting lipstick on a pig!"😂
Closed source proprietary nonsense
I don't understand?
had a car done with this. saves alot of time
Absolutely, both cars and both bikes, so much less faff.
looks like water normally does? 😂
Those pads are genuinely the silliest thing I have ever seen on a bike!
Lol I dunno, we've had worse ideas in the past. They work well though.
What’s that rear fender?
It's a mucky nuts one. You can have it short or long muckynutz.com/MugGuard_Rear_MN0250
Bit gay looking
No part number for the sensor ?
I have a spare sensor if you want me to look up the number
that would be awesome. I’ve got a bullit and want to make sure I get the right one and length. Thanks
@oceanexplorerash I just had a look, the spare one I have is the wrong one, it's the round old external one
Well done mate, I’ve not done Ard Rock for a few years, defo booking 2025…. How much battery was left after the race?
I have a 750 battery and I did put the range extender on, but got back with 41% so I didn't need it but it gave me reassurance.
Great to see a sunny & dry Ard Rock for a change and looks like everyone had a fantastic time 👌🏽
Yes mate, perfect conditions luckily. Good fun and I survived
@@vwsurfbum Swaledale is one of our winter riding spots so I’ve only really seen those trails covered in muck & filth 😆Just watched your full race vid, you did well 👍🏽
Cheers bud.
Didn’t capture me unfortunately! What a day though, spent Sunday morning heckling in there before driving back.
Yeah, so much fun
You seem to have taken the wrong path climbing up alongside the reservoir 😂
That was the GPX route!!
I thought Barthorpe was with you as well?
Was meant to be.
It's made of stones 😂
How did that bar mount stick managed to stay on 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Pure luck. Only lasted 2 runs on the lid. I don't know where my proper bar mounts are, that was only meant to get the bar home when it fell off the lid lol 😆
Nice riding, great trails!
Cheers dude, I love the trails there, shame it's a 3.5hr drive each way :(
The trails are looking smooth ☮️👊🏻✌🏻👍🏻
Certainly were
Does “auto mode” = EMTB mode?
No mate, it's more advanced than the EMTB mode (apparently) I have both on there, and EMTB is definitely more punchy.
Interesting. EMTB should be all You need…..
Ronster always has a lot to say… must be small man syndrome!
Lol
Wet but a good ride by the looks of it.
Always a fun ride in Surrey hills
Too slow dad...I'm off 😂
Leave that outside overnight after the ride and then bring it in
I usually hose and sponge it down then leave to blow dry. The FPO asked yesterday what my best purchase of 2023 was (I can't remember when I bought this) but I did say the baby gro is the best thing ever!
Try fitting mudguards!!!!
@@littlebigman6957 lol there is, but it is proper sloppy out there.
@vwsurfbum get bigger ones. Why people don't use them is beyond me.
Great video Ian, another great looking place to ride, liked and subscribed buddy 👍
Cheers dude.
Great video and a super place to ride although it looked a little beyond my skill set 😉
Lol it was beyond mine this day 😂
Well you did an amazing job of hiding it mate, I doubt I’d done that 🤣
Wish I had found this channel last week, was down there riding and didn't have a clue where to find trails, I'd have come with.
Other than Danbury, Twisted and 'Colchester Bike Park', is there anything remotely interesting to ride in Essex? Peas and Redlands are my local stuff but thinking of moving to Essex this year. Am I just going to have to travel a couple hours to get some decent riding in? Cheers
@captaincords5133 Hiya bud, I'm always happy to show people around, wherever I am. If you want a tour around Surrey hills or Danbury etc, just let me know
Michael, you're spoiled unfortunately where you are. Essex has some fun single track around, like Danbury and thorndon etc but not the elevation you're used to.
@@vwsurfbum Next time I am down, I will. I live and ride usually in the Lake District.
@captaincords5133 ha! Next time I'm up, I'll ask for a guide 😀
Get a 16-foot retractable leash and then get a clip for it and clip it to your handlebars hands-free
No hands are used, it's attached to my waist but I do need a better solution
Got the same problem w101 error fitted new magnet and sensor still not working and not registering any speed on screen
Have you changed the sensor?
Yes cable and bosch magnet
@@craigchadwick1451 hnm, can you get into the Shimano fault codes via the PC?
Merry Christmas. Safe travels
Please get a new harness they restrict the dogs shoulder movement. Which can cause damage especially as it’s running
Do you have a suggestion of a good one?
…… and not sure if you’re aware, it ends mid sentence?
Hadleigh…… just why?
Ideal for setting up the suspension and it wasn't muddy.
Early days to be popping wheelie? 8:57 Subtitles New Bike of Beer UT know you well.
pmsl.... the sub titles are so funny. If people play without the original sound on they sill get a whole different story 😂. Glad your back on it mate 🤘
Kfc rum 😂
It had to be tried.
Sick btw I’m the one with the Hawaiian t shirt
Good to see you back mate 🤘
Cheers dude
Saw a link to your video on Pinkbike. Cheers!
Yep, also here from PB comment section 😃
Good to have you along!

Yup, always fun being unexpected
