@@greenacresgirl6259 it is so nice to see previous pastors return to SD. I did visit with Father when he was stationed in Las Vegas when I was out there for a conference. I get to see priests who I haven't seen in awhile when I travel. Much like yourself now.

Joe was an amazing person and friend. I met Joe in 1977. It was a sad day when I heard of his passing. I visited Joe in August, 2023 when I was visiting from Oregon. We walked the pier and lunched afterward when I visited. Thank you for posting this

Every st Benedict I’ve worn has shown wear and turns a brass color but I assume it’s from daily wear over years. Interestingly, my mother has her great grandmothers rosary bracelet still and it has always stayed silver other than usual tarnishing. What I think can happen is the silver coating wears down and the brass fill maybe it showing more with age. You can test it with a home acid testing kit to see. The top layer of silver vs the deeper layer or to see if it’s pure silver. @@MYSTICMANDY22 but how does it get so totally changed? If expect some parts to be rubbed off and others to stay the same. Like, not every part can equally touch your skin, right? I'm not interested in testing it, just the process of complete change is what I'm baffled by.
