The entire cricket can be made in one piece and soldered only in the corners , where the ridge hits the wall and the ridge hits the valley. This way the valleys are a break in the skirt and you don't need to do so much soldering.

The welder is definitely not needed. You can bend the copper without the additional sloped piece being added.

Awesome job! So I'm new to working with copper I was told from the beginning to wear gloves as the oils and sweat will tarnish the copper. However on RUclips I see nobody wears gloves when working with copper. Just wondering if maybe the tarnish isn't as big of a deal as was stressed to me. Let me know your thoughts thanks!

If your leaving the copper natural then you don't need gloves.

You can make the same thing out of one piece of flashing where you only have to solder the corners the ridge and where the ridge meets the roof. That way the solder joints are behind the veneer of the chimney and under the shingles on the roof. You only have two 6-in shower joints exposed. The way it's done here takes 10 times as long as it would take me.

That’s a beautiful cricket!! I really enjoy watching an experienced craftsman performing a skill that has been fine tuned to an art form. Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I really would love to learn this art!
