Point Arkwright Octopus
Просмотров 11Год назад
This a short little clip of a common octopus found not far behind the breakers at Point Arkwright. All be it short, you will see the amazing colour changes from blending in with the sand to shape shifting and posing a rock. I struggled with my bouyancy for this as it was only 3.5m deep. I wasn’t prepared for the dive as I had just swam through the surf and hadn’t had time to breath up correctly...
Humpback Whale Time

I have a new appreciation for wildlife documentary creators. When you are targeting a specific species you have to work for your footage. Three and half hours of cruising and whale spotting, four whale swim attempts = 31 seconds of footage. We had a totally enjoyable morning though. Barry & how to shout underwater + WHALE SONGS
Просмотров 11Год назад
Volume up & listen carefully! If it wasn't for Waz's @oceanfundamentals1971 ability to shout under water I would have missed Barry. As I swim between the two overhanging ledges (about 11sec in) you can hear Waz trying to get my attention. Now, keep listening because the sounds you hear after that are the Whale Song of the migrating Humpbacks. Pretty cool! Thanks Waz for the boat invite. Had...
Freediving Point Arkwright

Hello beautiful people! Please enjoy this little underwater video from one of my local shore diving sites, Point Arkwright on the Sunshine Coast Qld Australia! You only have swim out about 300m or so and you pick up a depth range of 6 - 10m. It’s great shallow site for turtles, schools of fish and if your very lucky Eagle Rays and Wobbygong Sharks. Unfortunately no wobbies found on this dive. I...
Freediving the Ex HMAS Brisbane
Просмотров 96Год назад
Hi! Here is a short video of the latest adventure, freediving on the Ex HMAS Brisbane with my mate Ben. Starting life as a Guided Missile Destroyer she is now Queensland's Coral Warship that is drenched in an abundance of marine life. Hope you enjoy watching as much as we did diving! Remember, if you like the video give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel and hit that notification bell!
Nice reef! Nice video!
The only thing I didn't like (as a filmmaker) were the Page Turns. To be cinematic, you need to understand that the best transition is a simple cut. It's finding the right cutting point that makes it flow. Otherwise, great to see this wreck which we're also considering freediving.
@@oldnboldfreedivingadvent-DK68 thank you for the advice 👍🏼 This was my very first attempt at creating a short underwater film. Glad you enjoyed it. Vis on this wreck can be hit and miss. I got lucky with this at the end of March. June is traditionally pretty good on the GC as the blue water comes in, plus less wind and swell 🤙🏼
@@saltylifesmalls Thanks for this info. Always good to know the best times to go!
Lovely footage of a really healthy reef. Better than any aquarium!! Nice one, mate.
Thanks mate. Really appreciate you taking me out there!
You guys went and check this wreck out the other day. Awesome. It is a fun wee wreck to explore.
It was just me. Mandy was ashore for this one. I was freediving. Has a great time. Thanks for watching my film.
I love it! The travel under the wreck is great, whole other world!!
AWESOME!!! I wish I had visibility like this when I dived here. Makes me want to try and free dive it now. My favourite bits were 2:15 swimming under the hill and coming out to scuba divers and at around 3:20 for the insane amount of schooling fish 👍🙏🤿
Thank you 🙏 so much for watching. They are my favourite scenes too. So glad you enjoyed it!
Very cool!
Thanks for watching Av!
