Hi, he is going wide using too much curb and grass out Adenauer Forst.
Hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. Not sure I agree. There isn't grass there and there is grip but moreover the driver has won many R5 and Clio cup races there and it's clearly a deliberate line. I don't take that curb myself but I do notice some do it races. The exit of Andenau Forst is crucial for the long straight after so that line means being able to accelerate sooner. I think that's why. Would vary on different conditions though. I've seen people spin out hitting that curb when wet. Great comment though and thanks for watching
@@KeepEmRunnin9 hi, what do you think are curbs for and whats the green behind? Its some sort of track restriction, if the track isnt enough your too fast! Maybe the grass should be concreted as a part of the track? Lousy explaination and apologies. You should inform yourself a little better.
Good video. 6:35 soundtrack is unnecessary, just play the Renault engine noise🙏🙏
Thank you. I totally agree with you about the music on the track section but I didn't really have the engine audio. Not sure now why I took the gopro out of the r5. I would have had the audio then. Really enjoyed making this so will do more similar with other cars soon and hopefully keep improving them. Thanks for the feedback. More 'pure sound' in the future 👍
@@KeepEmRunnin9 cheers man. KEEP.GROUPB.ALIVE
Nice video, great car! thanks!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it 👍😊
Amazing car and vidéo. Thank you.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching 😊🙏
What a gem, love that little pocket rocket.
NOIIICE! that looked like a LOT of fun
It was!
Awesome car, very enjoyable watch.
Glad you enjoyed it. More special car vids coming
Awesome Intro. 😍
Glad you like it! I think you know the locations well. 😊 I'll be in Uxheim again next week. Would be good to meet you and the GT3 if you're in the area
@@KeepEmRunnin9 I do 😬 Will be there from Saturday to Monday. I guess we will just miss 🫣
I arrive about midday Monday so we may just miss yes. Another time if not 👍
@@KeepEmRunnin9 We can ask, if you could get a few hours from the end of the trackday 😬 or you just say hello and watch a gazillion GT3 RSs 😂
Something I'll never get bored of... just jealous of 😂
Beautiful! What a car ❤
Did you have insurance when going around the Nordschleife and if so who with? Im going in 2 weeks for my first time!
Hi. I don't get special insurance anymore. It isn't a legal requirement for nordschleife and any disputes are handled by agreement and police will make a judgement where there is disagreement. It's a curious arrangement due to the nature of touristfahrten as is technically considered a derestricted public toll road. You'll probably find that your UK policy will specifically exclude nordschleife. You can of course get insurance and some will include nurburgring with general track day insurance. I'd recommend Adrian Flux if that's the way you want to go. Up to your appetite for level of risk but for me and how many times I've been I already have saved more than any repair costs including barriers is likely to be. I'll be there myself first week in October (green hell driving days) hit me up if your around. Always good to meet fellow petrolheads and ringers and happy to take you round or passenger with you if I'm about. One thing I would strongly recommend if your first time is to play a nurburgring console game if you have one to learn the way round. Obviously not the real thing but helps immensely to know which way it goes 😊 Whatever you do enjoy it and be warned it's very addictive 😂
One lap can make the difference between a cozy retirement or one financial mistake after another 😂😂😂
😂 true but well worth the risk... a Nordschleife life is a life well lived 😊
@@KeepEmRunnin9 words of wisdom! 🫡
Great driving! Those bloody bikers though! 🤣
Immer the bikers 😂
Can’t wait to see the full lap! 😁
Thanks 👌
Hi, nice wheels 👌 i want too
I would love to see you put the BBR 200 kit on it after all the love you've given to Foxy.
Thanks for the tip - taken a look at the BBR stuff - looks like they have the BBR 175 for the 1.8. tempted but got my mind on a next project car so may be selling Foxy soon to fund that. Nice at the BBR sounds, i wouldn't make the money back - we'll see though - been dailying Foxy for a bit now and getting quite fond of her. 40 more bhp would definitely be nice :)
Just take it to the body shop if you care about the colour match between the bumper and wings. If not give the spray gun a go, you only live once. good video btw.
I'm on the fence about painting ourselves or getting someone to do it. Fair point on the colour matching - do fancy getting stuck in and learning to spray - what's the worst that can happen? Glad you liked the vid - still got to get my volume levels right but pleased people enjoy them!
Congrats buddy.. nicely done…. 👍👍. What an achievement. I’m amazed Andy didn’t complain once.
Cheers Steve!! Andy never complains mate lol
Great to see Foxy coming along and I vote to see the paint booth installation and repaint👍🏼
Cheers Wayne!! Still pondering on the paint... we'll see :) When you're next video out? Looking forward to it
@@KeepEmRunnin9 My next video should be out by the end of the week 😁
Excellent work guys, bloody love this car.
Thank you. We love it too. Think we'll be keeping it for a while
Glad to see the boys back! soon as I saw the rear shield I knew where that was going, hub off always means a new bearing. As long as the sensor is in the right position and the clearance is ok that would have been fine. May I suggest getting the 4 wheel alignment done by a MX5 specialist, no more expensive than the usual places no names mentioned but these are not the run of the mill when it comes to alignment, the usual mobs messed mine up twice before I went to a specialist and perfect since. don't go for a track set up if offered (unless you intend to track it) Nice to see it on the road finally. Yes go for the paint its a shame not to!
Hi Malcolm! Thanks for your comment and advice as always. Really sorry for delay replying... I was thinking of you as i destroyed that hub lol... i would have asked for comments on it but was pushed for time but was all useful learning again :) I've got an MX5 specialist arranged for the alignment - hoping to get done next this Friday. Andy's used the guy before for his ND, he specialises in and races MX5s so we should be in good hands there. Will try to get some footage if they're agreeable. Definitely going to get her painted but still pondering on whether to go for painting ourselves - tempted to take the plunge and learn another skill... or mess it up lol. Will be good content either way.
Can we have a 'behind the scene short' ? 🫢
😂
I second that
Wow! Looks like it drives like a dream! 😊
It does!
I would defo be more animated than Paddy !!
talking of animation... lol. Need to get you on a lap vid sometime Wayne!

iyi iş
Thank you sir! We try... to 😊
Nice job .How do you change the middle roller ?
Hi mate. Sorry for late response. We're not sure which roller you mean?
@KeepEmRunnin9 there's 3 rollers the bottom one on your vid , the middle one and one on the top of the door
I'm away at the moment, we're at Nurburgring - I'll have a look when I get back
I am mid way through the engine removal for my NC did you have to remove the steering column, I gave unbolted it and was dropping the engine out and it seemed to get stuck and cant find any vids online of people doing it edit: watching it now I see you had the same thoughts that itd just drop out, how did u manage to disconnect it while dropping the engine, cos mine seems to get stuck on the metal taking it into the cockpit of the car and I feel that I am just going to bend it if I try to drop the engine down more
Yes we had exact same issue. We found it was actually caught on the plastic cooling duct on the side of the alternator. Doing again I'd take alternator out then drop. Steering column should just detach fine then. Presume your right hand drive same as us? Most vids are LHD which is why they never mentioned it. We mention on the removal vid and again when we reinstalled. On the reinstall we had to remove the 4 bolts on the steering rack to get room to push back on to the column splines. You should notice the alignment mark on the yellow collar to help get exact alignment back. Good luck and let us know how you get on!
@@KeepEmRunnin9 ended up just smacking the ball joint off as it was disconnected but just didnt want to come loose, may have bent the steering column in the process of lowering it but thats a problem for another day lmao
@@earl8590 you'll probably be fine. We feared we'd bent the column as we'd realised there was alot of weight on it but was all good when put back in.
Great work guys, inspiring.
If your local to us at all swing by the shop and we can show you a few things and chat MX5s
That would be great! Will have to call in. Definitely need all the advice from the experts we can get. Currently dealing with rear hubs. Only really wanting to change the brake dust overs. Hoping we can just pull the hub. Any tips?
Hi Dylan this is my second account
Been waiting for this one well done! positive crankcase ventilation valve (positive pressure) lol! that's a problem you wont have to deal with now and imagine changing that and the small hose with the engine in even the Haynes manual doesn't mention undoing the 22mm nut on the transfer pipe either! (22mm flare nut spanner for that) Did you change the stat? as couldn't see it on the video. Could see you have a five speed box I prefer it to the six speed as having both I get to compare both and notice the difference a lot, six speed is slicker but its a lot of stirring, five speed seems to suit it better but that's just my opinion. Gearbox and diff will benefit from a change with 75w90 synthetic. If you have a low clutch point on the pedal it can be adjusted at the clutch pedal pushrod to bring it a little higher which helps with gearchanges and really does make a difference (after bleeding clutch first). Look forward to seeing what's next ! Thanks for the video diary.👍😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Positive - yes that make's more sense lol. Learning all the time, won't forget that now. Yeah was a top tip that. Nearly had a major panic with the coolant clip missing... was actually the pipe on top of the stat behind the intake. We managed to get the intake and power steering pump off just enough to get to get the clip on!! Absolutely no way you'd get near the PCV valve that way as you'd said. Was going to put a new stat on but had problem with my eBay account (long story) anyway... figured we knew the one on the original engine was all good so swapped them. We've done gearbox oil and have diff oil on the to-do list. Thanks for another tip on the clutch - that will be useful for sure. Some nice new bits have arrived for next instalment. Hoping to drive her in the sun before end of the weekend if all goes well!
@@KeepEmRunnin9 Well done Its all a learning curve, overall pretty good to work on being RWD FYI its the small hose to the PCV valve that splits length ways at about 80=90K did mine with engine in! You wont have that problem now! The best handling & steering car I have ever owned bar none, I personally consider it the best of all the MX5s. If you feel the need to get the geometry set up, do not go to Halfords quick fit etc use a MX5 specialist it shouldn't cost anymore but it will be done properly as they know these cars. Enjoy using it 😊
Always been a fan of MX5s. Had a mk1 for many years and Andy has a mk4. I've always liked the mk3 and don't really get why it's the least popular. I do wish they hadn't done the rx8 inspired front wing haunches but apart from that the best looking and harks back to the mk1 style. Looking forward to some nice drives in the sun. We're already eyeing up the next project car. Got a good mx5 specialist near that races them so alignment will be getting done by him I think
Nice to hear it running
Yeeeeaaaahhhh!! 😁
