THE BIASED COMPOSER
Германия
Добавлен 13 июн 2014
This channel is dedicated to helping music composers who struggle with limiting compositional habits, which more often result in writer's block. These habits are counterproductive because they don't allow us to look at things from a different perspective, a different angle.
With professional training and education that I have received from professors from the USA, Italy, Spain and India. I aim to help and guide you through your musical and compositional challenges.
Regardless of your compositional skills, we will together analyse your music to identify your compositional habits (biases) and work out how to break through.
We will also discuss different approaches of unique sound-scapes used by film composers. Why? What? When?

"Wo bleibt #Elektra" #Richardstrauss | Korrepetitor #Vocalcoach #Piano - Mägdequintett/Mägdeszene
This is the beginning of Richard Strauss' Elektra, composed in 1903, an incredibly intense Opera based on one of the most famous characters in ancient Greek tragedies. Elektra (or Electra) is the daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra, who ruled over Mycenae.
Here is the performance of it that Vocal Coaches (Répétiteurs) need to train to be able to do, singing all the vocal parts (if possible!) and playing a piano reduction of the full orchestral score (trying to give as complete an idea as possible of what the whole orchestra would sound like). Orchestral conductors are often required to do this too. It is a very challenging job, as not only should the Vocal Coach be a very ski...

This is an experiment with the intention of solely using the voices as instruments, without the need for a text. All vowels and consonances here are only used as colours and expressive means without having any meaning attached to them. I am happy to share th...

this is so cool
Atonal and tonal music are essentially techniques. I have listened to a lot of atonal music. All of it produces sonorities of tension and suspense. Atonal music is : Tension, fear, questions, anxiety, problems, discomfort, or dissonance do not need to be resolved.
Resident Evil dual shock edition basement vibes
I dont understand Schoenberg, because I think that everybody can compose like this.
Thats a very fast "Sehr Langsam"
Sounds like a jazz musician without short term memory.
finally a performance video with both score and hands !
this sounds both beautiful and creepy lol

what a beautiful performance
Man, I used to trash on atonality, but this is actually like super expressive. I'm actually writing my own atonal pieces, now
It makes me happy to hear that! To tell you the truth it took me some time also to get familiar with it. Anyways, I think this pieces are very nice. Let me know how your piece goes.
@@THEBIASEDCOMPOSER i mean i still do make fun of atonality. No composer can resist that, but like, I like atonality.
@@pathos_music :)😄 OK. It is a good approach to life in general.
Very good performance! I've recently been trying to listen to more "experimental" music, and it's been an interesting journey. This music is the type that my brain seems to be telling me is wrong yet, despite that, I keep coming back to it and listening again. Pantonality is very interesting and this music is good music. Thanks, Schoenberg!
Was this one hard to study or easy? I am currently playing Bach Partitas but I feel I want to try this one
I do not think of it as tough, but then, I did have a lot of training since my childhood days to be able to play ornaments. But I think if you play Bach partitas then this will be just a few hours of work for you.
@PushkarCarlotto those ornaments are more difficult than they seem, specially the left hand ones haha I do them with 2-1. Maybe I have to look for another fingerings for this piece
@@fryderyckchopin484 maybe try 2-3-1 or 1-3-2. Might help,
Please stop.
is the band the dillinger escape plan atonal??
wondering why i already like this when this is an aqquired taste
You don't have to think atonal music especially Schoenberg's early atonal pieces like this as a buch of random free pitches. We have to see it as an extension of tonality. This opus has a strict, almost traditional structure. Every piece is related with the next and all together has tonal centre of the semitonal relation between b and b flat. That's the reason we call it not weird but beautiful. It's simply an other language you have to learn it if you want.If you don't like it anybody forces you to listen. We all love dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are awesome! But after the dinosaurs came primates. We call it evolution. Nowhere will you see angry paleontologists wanting to execute primate biologists!
Perfect expression of our meaningless world. Goes with deconstruction and so on. Impossible to memorize. A world of despair.
Great. So I can play piano and if someone asks me to stop I can say it is atonal
Interesting .kind of opens lots of doors .
You can’t even okay the dynamics written.
I listened to this all the way through, and i actually kind of enjoyed it.
Thank you!

Returned again. If youve seen my other two comments, this is my third. Im in college now. Interesting thing Im thinking- this looks more fun to perform than it is to listen to. (Not saying its BAD to listen to, though.) The same sort of thing as interpretive dance. Infinitely fun to perform. Or at least, thats what it looks like, Im no pianist. I do theatre. Maybe that influenced this take? Idk
Yes, I understand what you mean, though I am still not so sure of it. Am wondering how would others feel about it. As for me some composers are more pleasant to perform, as in, they fit the hands and flow better, this might not be the case with these pieces. Thanks for the comment.
I don't particularly like listening to it, especially on a daily basis, but I completely understand and respect the art behind it, the purpose behind it, the vision and concept behind it. It fits really well with specific stories in movies, that's probably why it's used in a mischievous ways in some aspects of cinema, it also has an uneasiness to it that can portray an image of life out of balance and feelings of disorder, and mental challenges. And to some extent I think I can relate to the frame of mind you're in when you write atonal pieces. It's thought provoking but to what end? Maybe the sole purpose is simply to provoke the mind..

Very impressive. While the pieces look easy from the sheet music, giving a convincing interpretation can be harder - but you nailed it
