Sustainable Asphalt Research Group

SARG was formed with the noble aim of supporting, promoting, achieving and maintaining sustainable development in the context of asphalt technology. In tandem with this aim, members of SARG have geared their research endeavors on sustainable asphalt, focusing on warm mix asphalt, asphalt recycling, use of waste materials, utilization of natural asphalt and porous asphalt. Whilst the formation of SARG is barely a year old, research undertakings related to sustainable asphalt especially porous asphalt, has been conducted for many considerable years, while the research findings has attracted not only local but also international attention. It is our hope that the outcome of these research undertakings will provide impetus for sustainable road construction practice which is important for the well-being of the nation’s asphalt industries.

At higher temperature, the bitumen becomes more viscous & softer. Not less viscous & soft
Viscosity reduces at higher temperature and hence bitumen starts to flow easily . Viscosity is a measure of resistance to the flow or any deformation

Not sure where this method is but here in Australia we have a different standard for the CBR test.
