This solo knocked me out when I heard it because it was recorded during my Bloomfield days it’s just as good

This intro is a classic. I kept it single line as opposed to using the fourths in end of the intro to insure the integrity of the line. After mastering the melody the fourths will be more relaxed

Lovely.Regards from Ireland…
This is so awesome. Any hints on the tone? Other than Duane's fingertips? lol For his Muscle Shoels stuff I use a twin with a hint of OD. His Fillmore tone I've found a Marshall Pig is close but man, I can never get his Going Down Slow tone nailed. And I for sure can never nail down his phrasing accurately, lol Did you do a part 2?
@@waller8860 - thanks man, I use a Strymon Riverside thru a Mesa Boogie Express …. Hmmm I use old SG thru a Mesa Boogie for his slide tunes like Statesboro, Trouble No More etc for my live gigs as to phrasing is feel, time and attack
Thank you for this. So refreshing to hear someone refer to the notes and doesn't do that "first finger on the 3rd string, on the 11th fret...........stuff." Excellent.
Very cool what a great and different groove
Thanks buddy
I'm be all over this tonight
OH HELL,YES!!!!!
I'm liking these Duane Allman licks. We are coming up on the day he died very soon. Oct 29, 1971. He was so young but played like he had been doing it forever. Thanks for taking the time to do this. RIP Duane and Gregg Allman, nobody played the music like you 2 did.
Thank you, I play in different settings performing Duane’s slide work as close as possible to his style. To me, he is the unsung , at times forgotten blues player to the current state of blues greats. He was a special human being.
Amazing channel
🤘🔥🤘
Brilliant
Waterhole started out as a warm up that the Outlaws did, which evolved into the song that was released on their first album.
Deadly
Excellent Job. You nailed it.
I LIKE THAT JEFF BECK LIVE VERSION THEY TACKED ONTO BECK- OLA, TOO
@@Zappasays - I did those Jeff Beck solos as well - soooo damn good
HELL YES!!!!
Excellent, Keep Rocking, Badfinger was such a great band, it’s a shame what they went through and how they ended up.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why does the verse melody of "Too Much To Lose" remind me of the outro guitar solo from the song "Stone In Love" by Journey?
We’d have to ask Neal
@@jamesmac5049 I believe Neal Schon played with Jan Hammer, who played with Jeff Beck. Hmm... 😁
soooo goood!! Thank you for continuing to bring the best stuff forward
The Badfinger story could be a great movie or series to stream now. Heartbreaking effects of the music business of that area. Worse still, the two members to die of suicide were great talents, and good, caring men.
Nice one James 👌
SkyDog forever.
I feel like calling off the rest of the day and picking up my ax now..excellent vid!!!
Great lesson thanks!
Great tune!
Excellent CD
Good stuff as ever!
Sorry this lesson is long?? thank you, been tryin that outro lick forever,,,now I see,,,, thank you!!!
Peter doing all the double stop parts...he was the glue
I'm going to study this video tonight/the rest of the week until I can play it correctly. Thanks for making such a cool channel.
@@danielsalisbury245 wow ! I appreciate that. I made my music living as a violinist too. It helped my intonation as a slide player. I’m so glad you follow my voodoo. Thanks. Very cool to know about your SG history.
@@jamesmac5049after literally years of having subscribed I only *just* now read your channel bio after which I learned (1. you have music on other platforms and (2. you began as a violinist - no wonder your vibrato is so incredible, right?!
Sorry for the double replies but: have you ever considered making a Google Ads account? It would generate mailbox money from your videos. Needless to say I'm a devotee of your channel, but even more than that I'm an ardent supporter of musicians getting paid for their work. I've been the free beneficiary of your output for a long time and in the absence of being able to buy your stuff on CDBaby I would very much like to know you're getting compensated for your contribution to the world.

One of my all-time favourite slide solos! I was literally playing this a few hours ago. So tasty, so melodic! Unrelated: I'm always jealous of your SG when you use it. I had a '61 Re-Issue built in '96. It was my Dad's. I miss it every day. The fastest neck I ever touched.
Good!
Thanks Jim, really appreciate it, masterfully done as always...

Jim, Any chance you could finish Spanish Blood...
I’ve started listening to it . I am going to do sections not entire content. It is very erratic, good playing but not structured- very 60s
@@jamesmac5049 Sections would be great, easier to follow and practice. Thanks Jim...

Heey it’s Leslie West!!! Greatest guitar tone there ever was in rock. Thank you for carrying on his amazing legacy!! I will be sharing this on the Mountain fan club site on Facebook!
thank you!!!!!!
I just went through your list, like i like to do occasionally, and when i got to green onions for some reason i just thought of 2 more fantastic player's... Ron Bykowski and Eddie Hazel
Jeff beck, Leslie west, Jim mccarty... you my friend are my true hero!!!!!.... HAHA, YEA!!!!... don't forget brother Duane
HELL YES... SOME OF MY FAVORITE GUITAR WORK.. AND NO ONE IS PUTTING OUT ANY LESSONS ON L.W. IT'S A SHAME.. THANK YOU.. IF YOU DO MORE, I WON'T COMPLAIN
cool tune! i didn't know this one!
Thank you, this is one of the best tutorials I've seen, you showed all the riff positions slowly and didn't turn it into a 17-minute chat Fest
You ever listen to screamin' lord sutch and heavy friends, I'm sure you have, i love that album, so raw. My buddy doesn't understand what i see in it... new humble pie just posted
It’s been along time hmmm I recall being disappointed ( I had high hopes) at that time I was such Beck purist - lol
Thanks for this and the Spanish boot video found both helpful . Nice job
My favorite brothers song
I hear ya
One of my favorites to play along to is loan me a dime
SWEET!!!!
In my opinion... one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Your arrangement and performance were tremendous. Loved every moment of it, Jimmy!
You're right, a beautiful song, beautifully played by you. One of my favorite solos. Only thing missing are tabs.
Thank you so much. The song is in the key of C. Solo is melodic to the chord changes. Use the service wheel in the upper left and change the speed to .75 and it becomes easier to follow. Let me know if you need any further help.
@@jamesmac5049 thanks. I've been getting it a little at a time. I was just being lazy whining about tabs. you really nailed the tone of this solo.
