I am so Happy to have Found this Video of yours! Working on a ravenclaw scarf for my girlfriend trying my best to stay Patient while cutting the yarn for 8 stitches to Swap between colors xd
That sounds great!! I'm rooting for you, you can do it! 😊😊
You're so pretty :3
Beautiful refashion! I'm just starting to learn nalbinding and living it. The embroidery bis a great touch!
Thanks! I have some cool nalbinding projects in mind that I'm super excited to share 😊 I am currently streaming on Twitch mostly, if you want to follow over there for a minute by minute kind/IRL kind of thing and here you'll find shorter videos of the projects, hope you'll join us! 😊
@VMuraz I'm very excited to see what you have coming up! I've never used Twitch, but I may give it a go. I do love longer crafting content 😀
Awesome! 😊😊😊
Soon to be a beatifull garment👏💕
Yes it will!!
Beautiful!!
Thanks a lot!! 😊
Good morning, Virginia
Morning! 😊🌅
Very interesting
Thank you!
Yes, we will join the knit-along❤
Amazing!! 😍😍
Handsewing always looks better than machine-stich😊
What can I say, it is the truth
The most beatifull blue poutch ever❤
It's in great hands 😍
Congratulations on your move to Madrid! I can't wait to see which sweater you will be knitting!
Thank you!! Can't wait to start the Knit Along with all of you!
Hello! Do you have an update after using these thimbles for a while?
Yes! I have to say they were suuper comfortable and worked great. Maybe not for going through very tough fabrics, because you risk piercing through the leather of the thimble, but otherwise they work great. I would recommend making them I little bit smaller than you would think, because once the leather starts adapting to your finger, it will stretch a little, but otherwise, it's a good and easy project, so give it a go! 😊
@@VMuraz Thank you! Is there a design that you prefer?
@@rbt_lzo Definitely the one that is one strip that is tapered at the top, the "original design". It adapts the best to your finger and leaves the most room for pushing the needle without seams getting in the way
@@VMuraz Thank you for confirming! That's the one I'll make!😎
@rbt_lzo good to know! Hope you enjoy the result 😊
😊
Also, it is kind of cool, actually nice, to put lace around the neckline on knitted sweathers
Ooooh, I like that! Or maybe I need to make a full-on shirt with lace on the neckline to wear underneath as well... The gears are moving!
@@VMuraz that will be awsome yes
Already added to the list!! 😂😂
Finally got to see this. Hurraaa, you are going to use the yarn❤️ cannot wait to see the result. Are you making it in to a knit-along? I have just about the same yarn (I mean, would be hard to find yarn I don't have 🤭).
I think it might need to be a Knit Along... haha Let's see how the next few weeks are, but it's definitely happening soon :)
Love the lace petticoat!
Oh, thank you!! Can't wait to finish it and wear it everywhere this winter haha
Love this!
Thank you!! An oldie but a goodie 😊
Lovely project.
Thank you!!
I wish you lots and lots of fun! ❤
Thanks a lot!! Can't wait to share the results 😊
I couldn't make it today but my bag is nearly finished. It took a bit of time to get my muscle memory back. BTW my brother doesn't live in Nerja, he loves in Torrox.
I saw it! You did a great job, it looks amazing 😍 Torrox is pretty much next to Nerja!
This dress is my absolute favorite, just love it🤩
Thank you!!
Awe you were the best student. Wish I could teach you to chrochet as well. But I know you can do it though❤
I will! 💪🏼💪🏼
Hurraaaaa, London next👏👏👏👏👏
Can't wait!!!
What a pretty bag!
Thank you!!
I just checked the video and I don't know why the audio is so bad... 😢😢 I did some tests with the microphone and everything worked fine, so I don't know what happened, I am so sorry. I will try to fix it for the next Livestream 😢😢😢
You did it! I'm so happy for you! ❤ Friday or Sunday evening this week should work for me.
And best of luck for the runway show tonight!
@@doro5419 Thanks a lot!!! It was great! I'll see you on Sunday then 😁😁
That's really a good point about using old ends -- people wasted NOTHING back then. Nalbinding must have been seen as a wonderful way to use those short scraps from warping a loom, whereas today, we are so used to knitting and crocheting with whole skeins that we dislike the constant thread joins.
Absolutely! Having spun my own yarn and knowing how long it takes, I wouldn't waste anything 😅🙈
@@VMuraz It might also answer a question I had about why nalbinding disappeared as a craft. In the late middle ages to renaissance, weaving started to become industrial and no longer a home industry. Once there was no loom in a home, there were no warp scraps either, and no need to nalbind to use them up. I think nalbinding might have had the same relationship to home weaving as quilting had to home dressmaking.
Such a good point! And with knitting and crochet being a way faster technique and with the possibility of making way bigger projects on top of that... No wonder it almost dissapeared
You and I, team go team
You bet!!
Here I am! A day late and a dollar short, lol
Saw a blue dot and thought you posted to RUclips today, 🥺
Kind of! I am now doing livestreams every Wednesday at 7:30pm CEST in case you want to join. There are already two streams up in the channel 😊
@@VMuraz oh, cool, will join!
Omg ur back
Yes!! It's been a long time, but I am back! 😊
I just watched the first stream and the beginning of this video. Oh girl, I'm so excited and so happy for you doing what you love. Regarding music: I'm 💯% an album listener from the first to last song and in recent years I would listen to one album or one artist at a time a lot! Like Lindy-Fay Hella for half a year and hardly anything else, until the music is rooted deep down in my system and then I can go on. I will come back to it now and then, sometimes for weeks or months again, like recently with Kalandra. But since I saw Svavar Knútur live I'm now obsessed with his music.
I started knitting last Christmas and I knitted 3 Icelandic sweaters in a row. Now in the warm season I mostly put my knitting needles away and started sewing and spinning again.
I'm glad you are joining the ride! And I completely agree, I just enjoy listening to albums as a "whole product", if you know what I mean. And yes! I become obsessed with an album, artist, etc. too, but I also find a lot of joy in what you say, coming back to an album or artist after a while. It reminds of that period of time when I was obsessed with it and what I was going through at the time.
I sooo want to knit an Icelandic sweater!!
@@VMuraz, absolutely! Soundtracks of my life.
Hooray your back sending good wishes from Katy from NZ 😊😊
Wow!! Thanks for watching all the way from NZ!
Hej, V! I'm so happy you're back! Have you come across the film The Nettle Dress? Touching story, but also so fascinating how he spun and wove all the nettle fibre by hand.
Oooh, I need to watch it now! 🤩
Well glad your back 👏🏻 🪢 Ill trade You a Watch 🎥, for a Watch 🤜🏻🤛🏻☘️
you have such a lovely energy. great work ❤
Nice i love it
LOVE your cloak! Your Bayeux stitching is beautiful! I love that you decided to keep the eccentricities within the original design. The ornate Norse structure motif turned out great and is very reminiscent of the original. Thank you for the video!
You got me into trying spinning! I am so excited to spin! I have yet to receive my drop spindle, but am very excited to try.
I hope you find the time to make more videos. I absolutely love watching them. I love your accent and that you live in a new country, not your origin country along with being a viking reenactor. I would love seeing more nalbinding videos. I want to learn the finish stitch soon. It is so nice and clean looking 😊
For future projects like this, try using a darning egg, would make things easier. Very nice work 😊
Beautiful leg wraps!!!!!!!!❤
I have a rather stupid question. Can I use the Oslo stitch to make this scarf or does the scarf that you made require the stitch that you used? I'm just getting started doing Needle binding and have sort of got the hang of doing the Oslo stitch very well. Just asking as I would like to make this scarf. Thanks.
Thank you for this video! I'm trying to get into weaving for LARP and re-enactment and actually getting the lengths and details of how to do it has been absolutely monumental!
Absolute beautiful work❤❤
This is now, the end of March 2023. I happened upon Nalbinding and decided to try, it for fun. I purchased a Nalbinding horn needle. It came broken almost in half. I was sent a replacement needle. Now I have 2. short and long as I didn't throw the broken one away. I sanded it into a smaller needle. Your Tutorial is helpful. I will keep playing your video until I get the trick of this method.
This is the second time I watched this video in a row, the first time I just enjoyed the audio while hand sewing, and I tried to visualise the process. Now it's time to see it with my eyes as well! Thanks for an instructive and interesting video, looking forward to more!
Thank You Virginia 🤝🏻☘️
I Like it, Very cool Virginia, I would Love a tablet weaved belt from you, I would be more than happy to pay you well, Thank you, Murph☘️
