Gentle Honor Guard Salutes Kris.
The first time I ever heard the "N" word I was 16 years old and going into high school in a civilian town. My father had retired from the Air Force after 23 years. 80% of my friends on base were black. It was and has been quite a culture shock.
How is this video documentary coming along? I really enjoyed and could relate to the other video - Brats: Our Journey Home. I too am a military brat. My father served 4 years in the Navy and 20 years in the Air Force. I moved 16 times before the age of 14, and then he retired and we came back to his hometown where I started the eighth grade. It's been quite a ride, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. My dad was my hero. I never got to tell him that enough.
"My childhood has shaped me in ways that I'm only beginning to understand." Truer words have never been spoken. I purchased the video after watching this segment. My wife and children watched it with me. I think they are finally starting to understand me.
I am still proud to have been a part of this brilliant documentary by my friend Donna Musil..............The opening with Kris Kristofferson was filmed at my home in Agoura Hills.............when Kris came in and saw the camera set up he said - 'video? people might think I'm a homeless person!'.................I thought he looked fine - however it was extraordinary to look at him in person and then look through the camera lens......................the camera loved him!..........meaning - look in the room ........Kris looking pretty down home.....................look through the lens...........Kris Kristofferson movie star.......................he was such fun...............Donna Musil congratulations on your masterpiece!
