Would a faulty oil cooler on my 1978 john deere 8430 cause oil in the antifreeze? Thanks in advance
Thank you, Sir! I’m gonna get on it! My ‘52 8N has the same issue with the hood and one of the doglegs.
Thanks for the video, our 6620 did the same thing. I ended up getting it done without removing the fuel filters, and just zip tied the new new cable to that hold down bracket in there.
I have looked all around youtube to figure this out. It has been very frustrating as most youtubers yammer on about nothing and are hopelessly vague when talking about this. Thank you so much for this!
Great video your idea of running the tractor helped us get the cooler apart. Ours required some air hammer at the same time
A very well done video. Much appreciated.
Simple, direct, and complete. Well thought out and without extraneous fluff. I’m having to do substantial maintenance on a 4430 that’s been in service for the past 45+ years and has not received a lot of love. Your video is pure gold. Thank you, sir!
What an excellent video. Thank you so much
Short and to the point, thanks partner.
Great video; thank you!
Very clear and informative video. Thanks for posting.
Omg. Why can’t they all be so succinct. Another time I was looking for a what to do when your horse colics video. 20 minutes after bs about herself - and that was an emergency. Best video ever!!! Thank you!!!
Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time ! Now I feel I can tackle my own!
I just did a 4055 and there are two 1/2" allen head bolts holding the bushing in a seperate housing, I just had to remove those and change the inner seal and the o' ring behind the housing, very easy and no beating. I changed the bushings in the yoke which had to be beat out/in and a new load control shaft, the shaft was wore but I don't think I really needed to change those bushings,
Thank you very much. Very best video online to explain this stuff. Very helpful.
Thank you so much, very well explained.😊
Google Dennis Carpenter. The only OEM parts for 8N
Super great video! Keep them coming covering the 8N sir.
Excellent striaght forward ,no frills video.Thank you.
Thanks so very much!
No “BS”ing around. Right to the point 👍thanks 👍
An easy way to remove the old bushing.....just heat them...they slide out easy .
Im working at my 6600 combine at the moment.....replacing the bushings. However I never took any photos.....and I did notice the arms are different on each end. ( the short arms) How to know which goes where ? And which bolts need double nutting ? Also......I notices there are three different length bolts. Which of those go where ?
I have a question, so with the differential do you use the new hydraulic transmission oil as well for all 3 ??
Look for a hydraulic fluid labeled "Universal Tractor Fluid" often referred to as "UTF." Use this in all three compartments.
Thanks for creating this video you are a life saver sir.
Thank you for making such a well produced video. Excellent!
My 51 8N has the same rust issue going on. I now know how to fix it. Thank you for this video!
18,000 views and only 10 likes. That's ingratitude for you.
I also have a late 4430. You did an excellent job on this presentation.
This is incredible
Excellent video! I appreciate this, instead of other channels that spend 7-15 minutes of yackety yak just to explain that they don't know how to do it, or how to do it wrong. Kudos to you! Good work!
I agree with The baker comment, Straight to the point and no bullshit 😁
Good video thanks
Appreciate you taking the time to make this video. Very instructive and most helpful. I joke my 1948 8N is one year older than me...and I can still get more parts for the tractor than for me.
Excellent. Very clear and straight forward explanations. This answers my questions. Thank you for taking the time and effort to create and upload this.
fantastic info. Just what I was looking for!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. This was really helpful to this new Ford Jubilee owner!
Will this solve the issue where the steering is stiff as if the lil was”lumpy” feels like a washboard when you turn the wheel after a front support/motor replacement
Thank you, very useful!
Thanks for taking your time in posting such a great detailed video, much appreciated
This is the best training video I have ever seen. Thank you sir. Straight to the point and no bullshit
Thank you sir. I am getting ready to do my first change since my 49 8n was purchased. Very helpful. Any recommended venders to purchase the manual from? Much appreciated.
My owners manual says to use Hi-guard fuild.
Yes, there is some question Hy-Gard vs. 80-90 Gear oil. I have three manuals for the 6620...each with a different OM number. Two of them say to use 80-90 Gear oil, and one says use Hy-Gard. No dates in the manuals. Talking to JD folks the consensus seemed to be use gear oil...but I gotta hunch either is okay:)
Hi mates I have an old John Deere harvester, model 1068H. The transmission is manual type, and I want to change the fluid, but I don't know what kind of viscosity and specification to use. Can you give me your opinion? Regards!
Thank you for sharing the step by instructions. I have confidence that I'm able to make the repair now. I'm a new 8N owner and really appreciate the effort to make this video. Well done!
I'm getting everything ready for the snow and noticed my hydraulic fluid was turning milky. Great video, very helpful, and thank you for putting this together...the part numbers, amount of fluid, pictures, and diagram were awesome!
I was born in 1948, same as the tractor, so I feel an obligation to keep it in good shape. It does a great job on my small farm. Thanks for the clear video.
Great no nonsense video! Thanks!
IS THIS THE SAME SETUP AS THE 4440? Thank myou!
doing this today, have done some research but none as clear and simple as this. thanks for the video.
Very helpful video, helped a bunch. I am changing the belt on a JD 1530 unfortunately it is more cramped for space and getting at the coupler is a real chore. Thanks for the video.
