2022 12 06 HEC HMS Quarterly Webinar - Met Model Restructure
Просмотров 632Год назад
From HEC-HMS v4.9 through v4.11, the HEC-HMS meteorologic model underwent significant modification to make certain modeling tasks easier and more intuitive. This effort was known amongst the HEC-HMS team as the "Met Model Restructure." Changes to the HEC-HMS meteorologic model include: • Meteorologic processes were generalized, • Meteorologic model and basin model computes were de-coupled, • Me...

Can you send the dss files?
Thank you 🙂
Thank Thomas. I do step step from your tutorial by mrms data for my watershed. But when running it has the following warning. Could you please help me why is that error for? Warning: missing precipitation set to zero for 45 grid cells at 3 January 2022, 01:00 fors subbasin1
Great and thanks a lot Thomas. Im new in Importing grid data in HECHMS. Could you tell me about control specification and Discretization method (for example in your tutorial)? Thanks
is there a problem if the size of the dss file is larger than the size of the terrain?
Thank you very much. I pray for you a lot
That is all she wrote 😅
Thank you for the lecture, but my challenge is the preprocessing sink and drainage is not working on my laptop.
Thank you for nice explanations. I want to be an expert in HEC-HMS. Guide me the way to achieve that
Hi, Tom. Is there a way to add multiple gages at one time? like import them from a dss file? or do we have to do it one by one? If I got a large basin and have 100 percip gages, that wolud be very frustrate to do it one by one !
Thanks for your in-depth tutorial. Can we know the water cycle parameters after computation i.e., How much of water is distributed in infiltration, evaporation interception in terms of loss?
Than you! Someone who "is virtualy presenting" ALL modeling components 7 not 6 for "Project" - HEC/HMS all modeling components organized under a modular Structure called Project not only with Basin, Metedology model, Time-Serias , Data, Control Scifici. Basin is also main component even they do not contain much performance. Good luck, go on with worldwide introducing!
Awesome

Excellent video.
where can i get the data to rub thus model
Thank for the lecture Thomas sir😊....It helped me to grasp a better understanding if HEC HMS
What do you do to delineate basin with big reservoirs? Thank you
All videos are very detailed addressing the nuances of the variables and parameters of the HEC-HMS model. I really wish that you will also create a video on how to add a reservoir and diversion structures, which are basically comes in modelling flood forecasting for a basin. That will be very helpful for us to model our basin. Hope you will do one soon. Thank you again for the wonderful guidance on HEC HMS through these wonderful videos
hi, if I use imported geo referenced reach element, is it possible to run reach characteristics using hechms?
Hi, I want to generate the physical characteristics of an exported geo referenced reach element, is there any way to do so?
These are really nice videos, thank you!
Thank you for sharing this. Actually I too started off with HEC-HMS, but due to certain limitations I shifted to GeoHECHMS, which is way better.
Halo there. With this feature, is it mean that HEC-HMS is already using a distributed model? or is it still in a semi-distributed model? thank you in advance.
Awesome video!!
Can you please help me how to access DSS file? I watched other videos but couldn't able to fins it.
Did you find that ultimately?
I have problem , i follow the video step by step but i still have a DSS file without time window. How i can solve this problem
Thank you for making this video :)
Hi.. In need to run the model without GUI. Can anyyou suggest me how to prepare the datasets and run the model. Thank you
Thanks you sir for the brief and concise introduction.
How to convert from hourly to daily?
thank you
How can you open dss file? I can't do that.
I am using HECHMS 4.8 Version and my friend is using lower version. Can i save My HEC HMS model to Lower Version.
very nice. plz paste the link for HEC-HMS user manual. Good lecture
Nickjohn
Very good, thanks HEC-HMS team! Is it possible to enable in the future (maybe a beta version to test?) the computation of the equivalent slope (harmonic average] for flowpath? This is a more representative value of the channel slopes and a very important parameter for lag time and/or time of concentration. Thanks for the good job.
Hi Gregory, it is a great lecture in using gridded data inputs to HEC-HMS model. Currently I am using HEC-HMS model to generate runoff at area of interest of a basin. However, while importing the gridded precipitation and temperature data (in Geotiff format, "*.tif" ), it doesn't imported, stored and displayed. Any idea or support please?
Have you fixed it? i'm getting same issues. have you tried to convert into DSS format from HEC DSSVue
@@JALAJDARPAN not yet, I am still trying, and expected technical suggestions and support from developers. FYI, I am converting *.tif to NetCDF first then import will work. But not comfortable to do so this way.
@@JALAJDARPAN Now, I solved the issue of fetching the Geotiff data to HEC-HMS. 1st- convert *.tif to NetCDF using a Linux or bash environment or any method you are familiar with, and set Time axis for your data. 2nd- import the NetCDF data using HMS and display on DSSVue. I hope it helps.
Hi Thomas, it is a great lecture in using gridded data inputs to HEC-HMS model. I was following the same procedure you did, however, while importing the gridded precipitation and temperature in Geotiff format, it doesn't imported and displayed. Any idea or support please?
i'm sorry for bother you, but i have a question about Subbasin Charcteristics calculation. when i run for a small basin, it worked, but when i run for bigger one, it just keep running ..... forvever. I use 4.8 version. Thanks
I am facing a similar challenge with version 4.8
Try the latest version - version 4.9 beta 4. Improvements for large terrain datasets were recently made to the software.
Yo, science!
Thank you Thomas
