What a delight watching this event a few years after it took place! A couple of days ago I wondered what I could find about John Nichols on RUclips, never thought to do that. Watched a couple of videos that I found. Then today (June 22, 2024) this event showed up on my homepage/channel and I immediately watched it and love it. And, love John even more than I already did. We miss you, John.

Great talk! Connie Willis is one of my favourite authors. And what a nice surprise to see "George." Their comments about the Trump election apply also to the covid response and how everything has realigned since then too.

Doesn't is strange only 4 years later to hear people talking about Trump like he was the End of the World as We Know It. "Unless Trump kills us all", for goodness' sake.

Why is this book so underrated?

Around the 40 minute mark: yes, the other writers all find Paul Cornell Abigail Baker stories to be as hysterically funny as I do. I am glad.

Cool to see so much "Fort Freak" discussion, as that's the book I am currently re-reading. (And it's one of my absolute favorites from the series.) Hope to see more of these types of discussions in the future. Love to y'all!

Two great writers enjoy both of them. The Reacher books are a perfect pallet cleanser after reading one of GRRMs books. Engrossing and engaging but very quick and easy to read.

I tried to like it. It was horrible.

You can’t see his facial expression but you can tell just how jarring hearing Lee’s one draft method affects poor George by his body language.

Its been one of those days! I can appreciate one of those.

I'm a big fan of the Jack Reacher novels. Nice, gritty, 80s style action stuff. Tom Cruise was really not the actor for the role though. Jack's supposed to be 6'5.

I admit I've read only one Reacher book; quite liked it, though. But I've seen both movies and really liked them. Cruise has that crazy work ethic when he gives it all even if it's a shit movie like the Mummy reboot. But I can totally understand reader fans that were mad about his casting. I'm personally still bothered about some castings in Game of Thrones. I guess, they could ask The Rock to play Reacher in the TV series; or even better, the Mountain from GoT. He's ripped, strongest man alive (at some point), extremely tall (although he seems to have two brothers even taller than him). Great video, I liked it!
