Historically, Europe faced significant resource challenges, and when the Ottoman Empire blocked trade routes to Asia, they sought sea routes and ultimately began colonizing Asia due to fierce competition. While discussing Buddha's teachings is valuable, applying them to modern scenarios presents a different challenge. From my understanding, Buddhism was initially associated with aristocracy, where leaders possessed insights into governance and administration. This is why many successful kings turned to Buddhism-not solely for its message of peace, but for its emphasis on wise and critical thinking to maintain law and order. Today, however, these teachings often seem disconnected from practical solutions for contemporary society. I believe Buddhism offers guidance and solutions for complex issues, however there is a gap in how Buddhism is taught and presented to people. If we are dealing with individuals who are genuinely uncooperative or hostile, how can peace initiatives effectively address the problem?

Can you shed some light on whether slavery was practiced during Emperor Ashoka's reign? and if possible Can you shed some light on whether slavery and caste system were practiced during King Shivaji's reign?
