The "21st Century Heathkit" (heathkit.com) GC-1006 clock kit has been around unchanged for almost 10 years now. Many builders & owners don't like the 6 x AA batteries it needs to keep time during a power outage. I thought it was time to spruce it up... #Shorts

Change of pace from Heathkits. I'm actually shopping for a good single-outlet surge suppressor for individual; appliances. This is the cheapest one I found so far, and here's why it's weird. Includes a shoutout to bigclivedotcom as this would be his kind of video, and my inspiration. As I find others on the market I may do videos of them as well. Eventually I'll get my appliances protected!

Not my usual Heathkit video. This is my reaction to "Unbuilt Heathkit" listings on EBay for NOS Heathkits with ridiculous asking prices. For some reason, this is particularly the case with tube-based Heathkit audio-related kits. So why not re-create Heathkits as they would have been, but with modern substitute, and reliable, components. Feel free to comment. All are answered.

After decades languishing in my basement, I rescucitate my IO-102 scope which no longer worked. How I troubleshot it, and made a couple of mods. Finally, I demo it using an IG-18 & ID-101, and then test its bandwidth response.

Following up on my IP-18 Teardown & Rebuild video, I wanted to make sure the substitute transistors I used, and of course the IP-18 itself, were capable of holding up under full extended load with no issues.

This Heathkit IP-18 gets all new wiring, caps, semiconductors and resistors, and gets it AC section completely reimagined and I'd like to think made a bit safer. Enjoy.
