Re-launching Emccan OUTDOORS (East Midlands Caribbean Carnival Arts Network)
Emccan was invited to launch the new outdoor seated area / foodcourt in Derby Market Place on Friday 24th July 2020. This was the first time carnival performers had been engaged outdoors since COVID-19 lockdown. Since Leicester was still in lockdown, Kamala's costume was worn by Isabella. Lewis, Georgia and Kennedy form Inspire Urself Carnival Troupe / Nottingham Carnival brought the market place to life. Derby Carnival King Niaz and Queen Elaine represented Cultural Roots Carnival Troupe / DWICA / Derby Caribbean Carnival and graced the streets with their magnificent costume displays and some costumes from Elimu Mas designed by Melissa Simon Hartman were also well received.
