Umarex Air Javelin Pro won't work new unless you fast (tank) charge to seat o-rings (not in manual)
Just got one same problem. I actually slid an arrow over the shaft just barley and as soon as i tunred on the compressor it just lightly shut off. Looking like umarex is another lame company, not caring to deliver a good product.
I had the same problem with the same compressor. I took it to the local paintball shop and had it filled. The compressor doesn’t have enough to close the valve. It needs a higher pressure for Intial fill. Now that compressor fills it no problem
I'm trying to find someone with a tank I can pay to charge my 2 umarex javelin pros that I purchased one from pyramid air and the other from umarex neither one will hold air have sent one of them back to umarex 3 times just received the last one yesterday 8/23/24 still will not hold air. Florida allows disabled hunters to use them during archery season trying not to spend $400 for a tank. I like umarex air guns but their quality control sucks.😅
This is true and I’m glad I watched this vid or I would still be scratching my head
I just ordered One, seating the Orings should be done at the factor, that's my opinion
Possible solution, if it will only charge with higher pressure, place a valve between your compressor and the gun and allow it to build up some pressure before opening the valve to fill the gun. I know its not right to have to do this, but it might do the trick if your suspicion about the problem is correct. And you will know if umarex actually tested the thing as they say...
I think I will get the Co2 version. It has better reviews on Amazon and this version has many issues.
i had the pro , same issue twice as video. got a 3rd, it took air but leaked out over night.sent the piece of shit back a 3rd time, bought a regular co 2 version and converted it to hpa and its been perfect.ive owned a air saber a couple years now, not one issue what so ever.charged up full the first time everytime , and at one point was left 8 months with 3000 lbs in it and not one lb leaked. its a shame the pro was such a pile of junk.i had high hopes for it.
A very useful video 👍
You need to cock it first before you charge it.
i just pulled the frame off and manually seated the needle with a set of multi grips while my son pumped the manual hand pump to bed it in. It was quicker then this video
Wish you would put up a video of how you did that step by step
Have you tried to check the air release screw that uses a small allen wrench to empty the air out? Because if it's not tight it will let the air out of the tube. It's located right by where you hook up to fill.
Airgun works great. I'm just pointing out to new users that the o-rings need to be seated before the gun initially will work.
I just got mine , it was not charging also, same same probleme , leak from front, the store changed for another one , and it filled perfectright 1st time, so forget this tanks story , make them change it untill you have one working , umarex got a lot defective delivered to store and you will be the cobay, but if the exchange policy is ok take the chance ad change it until it fill.
You have to cock it first
HAVE YOU EVEN TRIED AN AIR TANK FILL YET .
TAKE IT TO A DIVE SHOP , OR A FIRE STATION , OR A PAINTBALL EQUIPMENT STORE AND SEE IF THEY CAN FILL IT . DID YOU GET A WARRANTY WITH IT . IVE WATCHED A LOT OF VIDEOS ON THIS AIR JAVELIN AND NO ONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM .
IS YOUR AIR COMPRESSOR MORE THAN 4500 PSI .
IF YOU CAN FILL IT WITH A HAND PUMP, I DON'T SEE WHY YOU HAVE TO SET THE O-RING. IT MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE . CALL CUSTOMER SUPPORT .
Have watched your videos and comment I have purchased 4 air javelin pros all 4 I have the same problem PC pump will not pressurize him I don't know AY getting the same result for omarek's have many boomerack's products but I still haven't been able to figure this out I'm not sure what to do They said use high pressure tank I don't feel I need to buy another high pressure tank when I have PC pimp PCP pumps I have several and none of them work and this will not hold air I am out of total $1200 or 4 purchases of this PCP It doesn't do any good to send it to oomer exit just costing me money to send it back and bored what a waste I won't buy for motor X again let me know if you figure out how to fill the shank or make it work they claim it works I haven't been able to get mine to work at all
I sent mine back twice and they said it checked good and finally a rep had them send me a new one which also would not air up, so I took it to a friend's house and he tank filled it to 1000psi and it's worked great ever since. Your javelin will work fine once you fast tank it to seal the rings. Maybe reach out to airsoft players or a scuba diver in your area.
Out of all the review videos and online reviews I've looked at this is the only one I've seen have difficulty filling their javelin. I'll be buying this still, I have many Umarex products including the original javelin and have had no problems with any of them, I'm surprised you had no luck with custom service, hope you got it working, the original is an amazing shooter with deadly accuracy
My "beef" is that it must be initially charged with a tank to seal the o-rings. This is no problem to do, but it is not in the instructions and buyers should be aware.
@@forwardmotionstowing7503 no , you dont need to do that, my 2nd one charged with compressor first time.
You have to have the safety on when filling.
Doesn't matter on the initial charge you have to use a tank to seat the o-rings.
Try putting the safety on 😂
Safety was on. The seals weren't set. Should have been in the instructions that seals have to be set initially.
Mine leaked from the foster fill port. Contacted Airgun Depot, they referred me to Umarex who sent me a fedex return label but all I need is a new Foster fill valve. Never had it leak from barrel . Airgun Depot, Pyramid Air and a couple other sites contacted, none had a fill valve? Anyone know the thread type? Or, where to get a new fill valve or o-rings, or for that matter o-ring rebuild kit, ( I couldn’t even find a parts diagram online). I’d send it back, but I hate to go to all the trouble if I only need one part.
I can add that I received 2 pro's from Airgun Depot, and neither would fill with my pcp compressor, had to send them both back
I'm having the same issue. Pyramyd Air exchanged my first one. The replacement unit does the same thing. They told me to use a bottle to fill. I'm reluctant to invest $400 in a bottle for one air gun. Plus I have to drive and hour to get the bottle filled. I just got a new Umarex Saber that does not have this problem at all. Same with Benjamin Marauder. Ironically the instruction manual for the Air Javelin Pro says to only use a hand pump!? LOL Update: I received the replacement from Pyramyd Air yesterday. I was able to charge it from a bottle (pump wouldn't do it). However all the air leaked out overnight. Second one is going back today. I would just give up but I have about $300 invested in accessories for it. Update 2: Got the 3rd one from PA today. 3rd time is a charm! Hooked up the Nomad II and pumped it right up to 4500 PSI. No leaks 12 hours later! Apparently there are some defective units out there. Just have to be persistent.
So just trying to confirm what the fix is. Do you hook up to a standard (60 gal tank) compressor and try to fill first? Again, trying to understand the process to seat the orings.
To initially seat the o-rings on a new unit you have to use an air tank, whether it be a standard automotive air compressor with a tank or the best option being a high pressure tank such as a scuba tank. Once the initial surge of pressure seats the rings you can use a high pressure pump from then on out. You you never have to perform this step again unless you release all the pressure completely for say service or shipping. The problem pointed out is that the manufacturer makes no mention of this in the owners manual.
@@forwardmotionstowing7503 but if your air compressors 4500 lbs shouldnt thatr be enough to seat the rings?(air compressor not a hand pump)
@@TheIntegramana thimble full of air every half second ain't the same as a litre all at once. The bang of air forces the rings into a sealed position. That's my take on the problem. 🤔 ...Like using flammable gas to blow a tyre onto a wheel rim.
So I guess UR SOL if the only thing U got is the HP bicycle pump ☑️
o ring in your attachment nozzle?
ok nvm you did that. lol
dude , you know you gotta cock the gun first before pumping ...right ??
USE AN AIR TANK TO FILL IT WITH . IT WILL PUT MORE AIR INTO IT QUICKER THAN THAT PUMP WILL .
That is exactly correct. When filling for the first time the gun needs a quick burst of air to seat the O-rings and a high pressure pump can't do that. Exactly why that step should be outlined in the owners manual.
That does work. HOWEVER I HAVE RECEIVED 2 CONSECUTIVE UNITS THAT LOSE ALL PRESSURE IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS. Waiting for Pyramyd Air to send me a 3rd. Have requested that they test the next one before shipping. We'll see what happens but I am not optimistic.
@@gonerydin4225 just got mine yesterday , filled to 4500 lbs , put one shot through it , put it away. 24 hours later im at 1800 psi .is there a fix for this or do i got a lemon
@@TheIntegraman You got a lemon. I got my second replacement this week and it filled normally and has been holding 4500 psi for 3 days. I had to send 2 of these things back to Pyramyd Air (thank goodness for their 30 day return policy) before I got a good one. There is no reason that this gun should be any more difficult to fill than any other PCP. I have an Umarex AirSabre and a Benjamin Marauder, neither of which leak or are difficult to fill. However the Marauder did have leaks repaired by Crosman under warranty.
@@forwardmotionstowing7503 Wrong. The 3rd one I received fills from my pump. The first two leaked even after filling with a bottle. This is not outlined in the manual because it isn't a normal condition. In fact the manual specifically states to fill slowly if using a bottle. This is correct for any PCP. This one is no different. In this case Umarex is putting out a bunch of lemons.
I and a friend had the same experience with the pro. Sent mine to Umarex for correction. They best not send it back without correction.
The factory will test it, it will pass, they will completely discharge it and send it back. The problem is that you have to have a quick blast of pressure to seat the rings or it will bleed out the tube and not pressurize. You will need access to a conventional air compressor with adapters or a scuba tank to get initial pressure. The fault lies in the operators manual not specifying this step, not the gun itself.
@@forwardmotionstowing7503 nope, the problem is the safety not being on.
@@jasonwright808 wrong, the safety was on
@@forwardmotionstowing7503 video shows too much red for it to have been on safe but whatever. Perhaps you just can't follow directions very well lol
