That’s why when people want to argue with me about players being so skilled because they dribble for 8 seconds. Sh8t is pointless 1 or 2 dribbles and you should be able to get a shot if you have to dribble for 8-10 seconds you should get a good look.

People forgot! All they bring up is the "Shhh Shot" by Kobe but D Wade was the MVP of this Olympics... he was a defensive MENACE. Bald D Wade i call him lol.

Watch the footwork at 13:07 -- Drops it to Horace Grant after he gets caught in the air, falling backwards off-balance. Watch how he uses a series of steps to regain his balance, move to his right away from the defense, and position himself square for what would appear to be a routine catch-and-shoot middy if you missed all the stuff before it. Really watch it, because it LOOKS like he just went 1-2 to gain balance, then another 1-2 to gather. He actually lands left foot hops to his right, then hops to his right AGAIN by splitting his legs mid-air and planting right while turning the left into the shot, and then uses that last hard right step to propel himself into a clean look instead of having to dribble before the gather.

Note how he line drives pretty much every jumper except the ones that are contested, all aim and little arc. Makes it tougher to make threes, but lethal from mid range once you find the touch through drills. I see a similar mechanic with SGA, who is deadly from anywhere within 18 feet, but surprisingly not a great three point shooter. Also see: DeMar Derozan, Jimmy Butler, D Wade, Derrick Rose, and yes, Kobe.

Wade was the best player on that team and in the game at that time. He stood out amongst the very best and that is not easy to do on a team like that. He was the 6th man but lead the team in ppg while shooting nearly 70% FG which is nutso

And some fools believe Kobe couldn't have out up big numbers as a high school aged rookie? It was widely documented that Del Harris did not like Bryant nor wanted to play him due to his age and ego. He deliberately sabotaged Kobe's rookie year and reluctantly gave him some time his 2nd year(All star year).

Kobe was prepared to challenge Michael Jordan, and it was evident that he had a deep understanding of Jordan’s moves, as he frequently countered Jordan’s shots. Despite this, Jordan still managed to secure several easy baskets and create separation between himself and Kobe. Jordan’s defensive skills were surprisingly impressive, as he managed to stay in front of Kobe and force him into challenging shots. Honestly, I believe they were evenly matched. Surprisingly, Jordan wasn’t just stronger throughout their careers, but he was also quicker, particularly during his time with the Bulls. He left Kobe flat-footed in several Bulls possessions because of his first step, which created space for him. I would love to witness a game between a 91 season Jordan and a prime Kobe. Honestly, I don’t believe Kobe would be able to keep up with Jordan’s speed, and even though Kobe managed to block and force Jordan into difficult shots, he wouldn’t be able to do that to a 91Jordan, as Jordan would simply jump higher than Kobe. This will always the difference between jordan and Kobe, jordan look efficient shots whereever and however they came. He did not hunt difficult shots.

I’ve been watching this series many times over and it was a lot closer than it was. Spurs choked away Game 1 missed 3 FT’s in the last minute to lose by 1 point. Robinson made 1/2 and and Elliott missed both! Horry hit the Game winner. Game 2 3 minutes into the 2nd Half Rodman is benched this eventually was a 2 possession game with 2 minutes left in the game. Instead they had J.R. Reid out there SMH. Despite Robinson looking terrible on the stat sheet Robinson played fairly well

Note Mr. West mentioned this thing called defense and how Jordan was top tier in that as well (as a shooting guard no less). This is why I'll never consider LeBron to be better than Jordan. LeBron has never played defense at a high level, and Jordan never flopped.
