      at 6k, the synchro's on these cars suffer, potentially a looser pilot bearing in the crank would reduce the 'spinning' of the layshaft and allow the synchro's to work a little less hard. Then again, this is a sprint racing situation, so the driver is going to focus on overall speed and winning over longevity of gearbox synchro's!

      Probably.... given the speed of these shifts and the full RPM at which they occur.... really a race car thing, as no one on the street would enjoy driving a dogbox daily... @@user-bl6eo9xm9j

    Il motore Alfa doveva nascere con la testa stretta con un inclinazione delle valvole diversa dalla testa convenzionale che a me come tecnico non mi è mai piaciuta perche' inefficiente con quel tipo di angolazione delle valvole, ma ovviamente tutto questo me lo tengo per me, altrimenti gli alfisti mi danno dietro.

    Questa è la testata che ci voleva per avere un motore Alfa Romeo come si deve, non la sua originale, non mi è mai piaciuta la testa originale perche' l'angolo tra le valvole è troppo ampio e i carburatori orizzontali non danno il meglio di se è un problema di flussi del famoso effetto THUMBLE , la testa originale non ha un buon THUMBLE con quell'angolo di inclinazione delle valvole, e poi i carburatori si inclinano leggermente per avere un buon condotto e flusso e quindi maggiore coefficiente di riempimento, la pecca del motore con testata originale lo senti in fase di progressione che stenta a prendere giri, è come se i cilindri durassero fatica a respirare, perche' non c'è un buon flusso che lavora per il coefficiente di riempimento.

    Na ja, die besten Zeiten am Ring und beim OGP sind lang vorbei, zu viele "boring mainstream" Karren ....Das kann alles längst nicht mehr richtig begeistern, schade um die herrlichen Starterfelder von einst, insbesondere die 90er Jahre.....alles Geschichte, so was kommt nie wieder.

    I have to wonder what is going on here in the dyno - are you planning to run it out past 7500? Also the indicated rpm was past 7500, yet the dyno curve stops at 6200 ish.... Trust me, I WANT to know what this motor can do, and I am just confused by what I am seeing here?!! Is it meant to be a torque monstor then? and have 'only' 180 hp with 220nm or torque? I guess with the 40mm carb's that would be what you are going for, but why not change the cam and go for the HP? Customer wants torque only?

      hello - yes the dolomiti engines are developed over 25 years in every detail. the are built for Alfa to use daily and rom not "racing" guys; simply normal running. the very, very special is the torque from 2400rpm on. andif you use this engine one day on a track you will be not the slowest ... The parts inside have the same quality like our endurance race engine - simply the complete setup is different to get this amazing driveability. The confusion revs is simply a bad 40 year old itlaian revcounter which shows about 1000 rpm to much at real 6000 rpm.

    amazing pull - I am not sure if you noticed though (I did because I have this issue) but in neutral, when reving (and potentially when you shift gears on the road at 4k+ rpm) there is a slight buzz noise coming from your clutch/tunnel. Did you notice that? Still notice that? Maybe you got it fixed? I have a twinspark with this exact same noise, and I am trying to fix it at the moment. Not sure if you have idea's on where it is coming from in your clutch/trans area (that's where my sound is originating from).
