"World 6: Bowser in your sights" - Freaking chills every time man

Just recalled that this is just like Super Mario 3D Land, as in that game, the world map music for Special World 8 changes once you've 100%ed the game and unlocked the final level, S8-Crown. I really like how both SMG2 and 3D Land give you a small, but pleasant reward in the music upon 100% completion.

I remember this so well, mostly because I was stuck on it for so long as a kid😅

I always loved this one a lot, always came back to play the levels, felt like home

The more I think about the atmosphere of the world map, the more I realize Throwback Galaxy simply does not work in World 6. The tonal whiplash going from the final story world to a Mario 64 callback with happy music and bright colors is wild.

I caught my daughter playing this last week. Still sounds like yesterday, though it's been more than 2 decades

Whenever I listen to this, I can truly meditate. Indulging myself in the truth and love, as if time had stopped ❤️

Okay listen, I _know_ there _is_ no air in space, so you can't exactly hear anything But considering the series' usage of wind noises when near a black hole, and considering the background for this world map is a *SUPERMASSIVE* black hole, the fact it's not simple wind currents but outright *aggressive* strong winds mixed in with the accompanying backround track is imposing like no other world in the game. Like, you can _hear_ the destruction of this thing, and of course see it too with that gigantic accretion disk. But the fact you can hear it so clearly and yet so aggressively from a distance far enough that it's not sucking the starship in is a testament to this thing's raw power It's clearly the game telling you, both visually and audibly, "you are _just_ that bit too far from destruction that it's _safe enough_ for you to exist, but so very close that in _one_ slip up you're *gone* like you never mattered", as well as narratively I like to think of the almost supernaturally strong winds like the sound of the stars dying around you, urging you to stop Bowser from destroying everything in his obsession for power, including potentially himself, because it's probably safe to assume that not even he's aware of the magnitude of how deadly this thing really is

Little bonus comment of the relaxation route requested by someone who saw my comments. The S world is beautiful. Personally, I wanted to finish it to unlock the green stars, but other people didn't even know this world existed until they got there. Its galaxies are all majestic (until the rolling coaster galaxy which is too hard). I love this world, it feels like a return to galaxy 1, and this feeling of being at the end of the game is just masterful. Good relaxation, goodbye (for real this time)

These were simpler times

I just thought one thing and that is that in Mario Galaxy 1 the game ends with a large black hole in the center of the universe and I thought that if world 6 is also the center of the universe it could be the black hole that was created in the first game

I could listen to this for hours. Makes me dream about having my own small apartment and listening to rain at 4am.
