Realmente esa batalla de Wartelo es sin importancia , los Ingleses habían quedado mal de imagen, por que Rusia realmente derroto en la batalla del Rio Berezina a Napoleon , de casi un millon de soldados franceses , solo regresaron a Paris aproximadamente 30 mil soldados pero maltrecho, Napoleon tuvo que renunciar a su cargo y embarcado a la Isla de Ssnta Elena, los propios ingleses le ayudan a escspar a Francia, cuando Napolron llega a Frsncia realmente no contsba ya con soldados experimentados ni tampoco suficiente. Inglatera lo proclama enemigo ( claro dedpues de ayudarlo a escapar de la isla de sta. Elena ). Napoleon que podría hacer para enfrentarse a esa numerosa tropa fresca exprimentada formada por Inglaterra, Austria, Alemania, simplemente nada , fue derrotado facilmente y lkevado a la Isla de Elba , el asunto es que existio una gran campaña publicitaria tratando de desmerecer el Triunfo Ruso y lo logro Inglaterra y ha pasado como una derrota de Napoleon , cuando reslmente la gran derrota fue en el Rio Berezina

Christopher Plummer made this a very good movie, but like most movies about this era it's light on accuracy. Every cannon shot explodes when it lands- the vast majority of cannons in this period fired round shot, which didn't explode.

Ney, was rewarded with a firing squad after the battle while the megalomaniac responsible for all this carnage, got sent to a less salubrious island retreat, St Helena, to live out his final years.

Blucher fell for Napoleon's reputation for attacking on the flanks and weakened is center. And Napoleon charged for that weakened center. At the height of the battle, Blucher's horse was shot out from under him and has literally pinned under the thrashing screaming animal while French cavalry charged around him not one noticing the enemy commander could have been taken. When the Prussians crossed the Our river at Wavre, Von Gneisenau Knew Grouchy and Gerard were following them. He left Lieutenant General Von Zheithen to hold the single major bridge in the area at Wavre against Grouchy and Gerard. Von Zheithen had 18,000 men and asked for reinforcements. Von Gneisenau told Von Zheithen hold to the last man with what he had. Which he did. Blucher and Von Gneisenau arrived in the woods behind Napoleon at about 6 PM. They launched several attacks to capture the town of Plancenoit which threatened Napoleon's rear right flank. Napoleon was forced to send all of his Young Guard and part of his Middle Guard troops to hold the village, which fell at 7:30 PM. These reinforcements weakened his guard attack on Wellington's center which ultimately failed. AT the same time, Prussian Troops filled in on Wellington's left flank and aided in the collapse of the French Army. When the French broke and ran, the Prussians continued the pursuit of the French while the held the field at Waterloo. The arrival of the Prussians being late, actually was instrumental for ending the Napoleonic Era. If Napoleon had faced a combined Allied Army of Brits and Prussians, he would not have attacked and moved elsewhere extending his time as Emperor.

A masterclass in how to make a historically accurate movie about and important battle - without any of the modern special affects that make it look like a video game - and without boring an audience.

I don’t know why but watching this reminds of a battle I had today in Empire. The British attacked one of my towns were I had 1600 militia and they had 4500 line infinity mix with rangers and I when the battle was over I had 900 men left but I made the British only 1600 left.

Let's stand out in the open and let cannon fire wreck us. Great idea!

How beautiful are naval battles in this game, gotta love them. Also you went full bananas overkill with those heavy first rate ships😂, you only need a couple 5th rates to out maneuver the heavy ships with chain shot and once they have no masts just grape shot from close range. But big ships firing is always exciting to see, so I understand 😎

Do you have the 40 units mod? If so is it working with Darthmod? Cause my Empire II mod the enemy will sometimes just stand still refusing to attack nor change their poistion if i attack their flank.
