Ok I change my tilt and trim but the one was on the boat the tilt and trim motor was 4 cables blue, green, white and black. Now the new one is only 2 cables …. Any idea 💡 on the connection ?

So glad I came across this. We had the same issue. Pulled the motor and jumped it directly on a battery and got both directions...now a new relay is on the way

There actually 2 relay circuits in that Yamaha PTT Relay and one side only can be bad. The proper "Technician" way to perform that "trick" is to disconnect both the Blue (Up) wire and the Green (Down) wire from the relay and touch them directly to a battery one wire to POS + and the other to the NEG -. If the PTT motor is good and the relay bad, it will move Up when Blue is on + and Green is on - and Down with Green on + and Blue on -. If the motor doesn't power in either direction when hooked up directly to battery it is bad. Usually when a relay is good and the PTT motor is bad you'll hear the relay clicking BUT this isn't an absolute 100% sign that it's good. It was smart of you to swap relays to test after seeing the PTT motor worked in moving down.

Thanks Man!! Exactly what I encountered even after a complete shop tilt rebuild. That wire crossing IS NOT totally reliable. I did just what u did and took off relay from other engine and all was fine!!! Yippee

I think the ground is bad in the relay for it not to work

Hello. From your video it is showing that relay is not connected correctly for the test. You have 2 wire clip disconnected. This test should be 100% accurate because you are running current directly to your motor with bi-pass.The motor worked down but not up when bi-passed. Seems you were missing the connections for voltage to motor when you did the test with the bad relay. Was your relay directly purchased from Yamaha new? I payed $45 for a used relay on Ebay and it has been working perfect for over a year. BTW. Love your motors HPDI. They are awesome motors. Thanks for the video. I am a subscriber and looking forward to more HPDI videos. Take care

I didnt have it wired in the video but I did have it wired and tried to jump it on both motors. I would not work. New relay and it works fine now. I even jumped the relay on the other motor and it moved.

@@florida4funshinechannel998 1st I like your videos keep it up. See my comment above for a detailed explanation of why the "trick" you used didn't work for him. The ground side inside the relay was bad on the side that controls the Blue wire.
