I served over 30 years as a combat Aviation Veteran, now retired E-9 since 2018. I actually was at Bagram AB, Afghanistan, one year when Toby Keith came and did a concert for us. I got to see many performers like him Charlie Daniels that did USO tours, for us. Bless them and blessings to all of you.

I love the way that everyone is helping the Marine Vet up to the stage in such a respectful way. They are not babying him in anyway. They know that he would have trouble with the steps and offer the help but only as to support him so that he does not fall or hurt himself and are letting him do most of the work. So proud to see him walk on stage.

Toby will always be remembers for his total support of the military. I love that he was talked into releasing American Soldier by members of the Military as if i recall right that song was only meant to be preformed for his USO tours or something along that lines.

How times - and the American psyche - can change. I'm a vet of the Viet Nam era. Not that long ago we were admonished to never wear our uniforms when off base inside America. You see, supposedly "good" American citizens everywhere followed Jane Fonda's lead. They would treat us like dirt and even spit on us. Now those "fine" people like to sing this song along with Toby.
