What the moose does is practicing defense. It treats the ball as a threat and practices stumping, which is what a moose would do when defending against or attacking another animal, humans included. Deer does the same thing. That's a playful/aggressive game there.
Hang it from a rope at the mooses head height so it can head butt it. Make a moose scratching post with the head of a broom and a 4x4 in the ground. Screw broom heads on all 4 sides. That would be a cool vid to see.
