It's been eroding for a long time. Third parties in the US are regularly targeted with frivolous lawsuits, the system builds itself to protect those in power and help them to keep that power. They use division to better manipulate millions of people, and huge institutions play into it because it means their own survival. So many of them are corrupted but they never admit this, instead the fault is always outside them, it's 'populism' and 'misinformation' and 'russia'. The issue is the system (the government) is not working for people, it doesn't respond to the discontent in the people so that discontent grows, until a populist like Trump is elected. It is still democracy and imo the willingness to elect brash and 'improper' candidates points to the rot of institutions and system, people are sick of traditional politicians, which basically have failed to deliver for so many for decades.

Indian Americans solely vote Democrats for their loose immigration policy, nothing else.

The technology gap is enormous between the two sides. So, the bet is on Israel's own self-disintegration. This could happen in two ways: The West abandoning Israel and this started on October 7th (Israel lost the global public opinion war especially in the US). The second way is the rise of the irrational genocidal right wing with its extreme policies that have no room for moderates within and no room for peace with the Palestinians (the infamous judicial overhaul by Netanyahu is just the start). The population bomb, as the late Arafat once described, will only put more pressure on Israel. The only problem maybe is the continued influence of Israeli lobbies within the US and the West in general.
